Just look at the 370Z (I know its been around a while) that starts at 27K. Cant come and expect people to pay £40k for a new S2000

Will keep my eye out, and if prices are reasonable, and the car has good power, it will go well to sit beside my facelift S2000

Just fire up the tooling and make an aluminium/carbon version of the proper S2000

Because a lot of people don't want a manual and prefer a DSG or auto.

I get that, but I don't think the S2k would have the same appeal as an auto.

It could well work with a decent smg/dct/whatever you want auto in it. But the manual gearbox is one of the defining parts of the S2000. A potential new S2000 would be launching in a very competitive space so anything which differentiates from it's peers should be exploited.

Have to say as sacrilegious as it is, when I had my S2000 occasionally when having a spirited drive, and as amazing as the manual box is, I did sometimes think 'this would be awesome with a nice quick paddle box'

I get annoyed with mine sometimes ie. when not hooning. It makes me want an IS300. It doesn't make me want to ruin the S2k characteristics

Someone at Honda mentions the possible potential for a sport car at some point in the future and the motoring press imagine some images and say there will be a type-r version?

They need something to write about I suppose

Indeed. I'd also suggest that if you're judging the car solely on it's power output and price, then perhaps this class of car isn't for you anyway.

Having owned an EP3 and now own an Evo 8 FQ-300 I really can't see the appeal of a high revving NA engine. Don't get me wrong, I loved my CTR and VTEC but boost is on another level.
