Can you take a screenshot of the GTA folder?

Also if you run the game, what happens?

Finally - which exe did you select? PlayGTAV.exe?

There are 2 GTA V .exe's in the folder, 'GTAV.exe' and 'GTAVLauncher.exe'. I chose the 'GTAV.exe' one.

Not sure what happens if I run the game, will do so now and post back. Here's a screenie of the entire folder:-

Ok that's good, means its loading on its own! The reshade must assume the non steam version for the exe so don't worry about it at all, just use the normal gta exe.

So the reshade that appears in the top left, that means its loaded. Can you toggle it on and off with scroll lock and see a difference in the graphics?

If so, you can now move on to getting the actual preset off the sweetfx settings database(linked above) and replace the sweetfx_settings.txt file

Cheers m8, appreciate all this help! I've downloaded the .txt file and dropped it into the SweetFX folder, so do you need to toggle the settings to 'on' using Scroll Lock every time you play the game? I'm going to fire the game back up and hit Scroll Lock to see if it looks any different.

I think its on by default to be honest. So load up the game and hit scroll to see if you see any difference between vanilla and sweetfx. When you hit scroll it should say "enabled/disabled" on the top left where the reshade stuff appeared.

I have mine off by default and turn it on when I'm in game.

Ta. Unfortunately I have a Logitech Wave keyboard which doesn't have a Scroll Lock key.......gaaahhhh!!!! I'm trying to work out how to try turning it on and off.

There should be either a file in the sweetfx folder called common/global with a line to set what key you want to toggle. There is a terminology list somewhere on the sweetfx website.

Aside from that, did you notice a visual difference when you loaded it? It should be very noticeable.

I think it does say enabled somewhere, yeah. I'll post up a screenshot and you can see if you think its all working as it should? I haven't played GTA V for a month or so and can't remember what the vanilla graphics look like to be honest so I dunno if the Reshade stuff is working or not....lol.

Yeah go for it. Screenshot of the text that appears, then a screenshot in game, outside or something.

Don't see why it wouldn't be working.

So the reshade is enabling, but the screenshot sort of doesn't look like sweetfx is on.

One sec. I will remove my current config as I have it backed up and do the method you just did

OK so it works for sure.

I followed the exact same steps, but on the default sweetfx that comes with the download - it didn't do anything.

Then I pasted in the preset contents into the original Sweetfx_settings.txt file and it worked fine.

It is also scroll lock to toggle it on and off but it was on by default. You can verify this in your files by going into the sweetfx folder within the GTA folder, opening Global_settings.txt and checking for this line:

#define ReShade_Start_Enabled 1 //[0 or 1] Start with the effects enabled or disabled?

Needs to be on 1 to be enabled on game start.

Also here is a comparison screenshot of it on and off. Character moved but ah well.

I haven't looked into this much but I have seen a lot of noise on reddit about it.

Literally the only thing I did differently was I copied the contents of the preset download, into the original sweetfx file. May be the root cause, I'm not sure.

I downloaded mine off the same place. Mine was called quentins + reshade but its not there anymore on the website.

What I will do tomorrow, is package mine into a zip folder and set it up so its enabled from the start and then you can just copy and paste it in. (just turned pc off and cba going back in to turn it on lol) mine is slightly different so the sweetfx settings on its own wont work with some reshade versions.

Its hard to tell on your screenshot but considering the difference I saw in mine, I'm not sure if yours is loading at the moment.

If you don't see a trust from me by 19:30, remind me lol

Its funny how we can do pacific standard without a worry, but prison break causes so many issues.

I tend to stock up on armour and snacks before even considering starting it.

I suck at the Prison Break. After the last run we did, I had to get a macro together to quickly equip some heavy armor, and another to chow down on snacks

I already have that haha. Although it occasionally glitches as I have a 5ms delay between key strikes, may need to increase it slightly.
