Had my 390 since Black Friday, and today suddenly one of the fans (closest to the back of the case) has started making a sort of rattling noise when the fans start going.

It's only this fan, as when I stop it and let the other two carry on its completely silent, then let go and the noise is back.

The card itself isn't shaking at all, it's only the fan making the noise.

Any ideas? Is there anything I can do?

Will upload a video of the noise momentarily.

Damn that is annoying as hell. It does sound like its slightly catching or rubbing on something. Definitely RMA if you can't find anything. It's a real pain returning something but it will definitely be worth it.

I took it out the case and gave it a good look earlier, nothing visible that it's catching on that I can see from the outside.

Sucks as all was going so well! Running crazy cool and quiet, then suddenly this on just one fan :(

Had a similar noise on my old powercolor 5850. Was definitely nothing catching, just the fan went crappy. Had to sort it myself (new fan) as RMA said it was normal.

It's probably only going to get worse, if you are ok with removing the shroud from the heatsink, a tiny skoosh of lithium grease(not WD40!) might cure it.

BUT I'd ask first if removing/skooshing cooler would invalidate the warranty.

:p

If you change the red [ back to a normal [ it'll embed youtube.:)

Prob best to send them the video and contact them first to see if they will accept that as a fault. They should do but if you open a case and have them agree it isn't tip top before sending it away they may feel oblige to help you rather than say it is within acceptable noise levels and as far as function goes, it is functioning correctly

Right okay. So am I doing this through Sapphire? Or through OcUK?

Also, I don't want a refund on it, as got it in that great Black Friday deal so would be losing money if I did. Not sure if that affects anything or not.

Well I still want the card, as got it for £205 and it's running great, just this fan defect is really annoying.

Send OcUK a webnote and ask them what you need to do with it. Their CS is always top notch so you should get some good advice pretty fast! They will most likely RMA it.
