Win10 suddenly asking permissions for everything, but UAC is off?

Hi All,

I noticed today that Windows is now asking permission to do basic tasks such as moving a file, deleting a file and renaming files. I can't say when this started but it's really annoying. I am currently having a purge of my music, movies and backups, but being asked to do every task is getting annoying.

Has anyone else noticed this? I have not changed anything bar normal Windows updates.

Thanks

EDIT: I have checked that I am a part of the Administrators group and I am. I have also ensured that the drive has full permissions for the Administrators group and it has.

I will try in a moment.

I have just enabled Administrator and logged on and I am able to do anything I want with no popups. I removed my admin rights and proved I could not longer do anything. I then gave them back to myself and I am getting the issue again, even though I am the admin.

I can't help but think it happened today when I connected my Galaxy S6 to my PC...unsure why I think this though.

EDIT: No luck still getting the error:

Ok now i have more issues.

I thought I would just reset my PC (no big deal for me as it only takes about 30mins to get it how I like it) but it says there was a problem and cannot do this.

WTF is happening?

Excuse the triple post.

Reset the PC...and I am still having the issue...

I have no idea what is going on. Every file I try and move it just asks for permissions. This has got to be a weird Windows update or something and I do not see how it can stay this way through a reset?

Is this a storage drive or the system drive with windows on it?

Both. I expect the system drive to do this due to what it is, but not my storage drives.

Since my last post I believe I have resolved the issues, but I just do not know how it happened. I resolved by simply moving data to new folders and the issue disappears. Thankfully my data is pretty well structured so moving the master folders was a breeze.

Anyone got any ideas of how this happened though? Every folder on my PC requiring admin rights even though I am the admin?
