Hi guys. I haven't got Breakdown Cover at the moment. I don't need anything fancy like home start and so on, what I am looking at is getting something which will get my car home should it break down away from home if I can't otherwise get help to come to me via friends etc. It *may* be beneficial to have it linked to me as a person than my car alone.

Are there any good offers/deals out there at the moment? Someone told me you can find cut price offers through cash back sites and so on. So just wondering if anyone can recommend a good service/deal they have spotted.

Ta :)

Have only had to call them once in the couple of years I've been with them and the service was great. Have a friend who has called them several times and always been fine.

They send a local recovery/breakdown firm to you, you pay them, then send the receipt in and they reimburse you.

I use these guys too, had to make a callout earlier this year and they actually paid the recovery firm directly.

With the RAC, if I breakdown in any car they'll come and help, every option possible, kinda pointless as I'm capable of fixing most things but it's a nice reassurance!

I have AA cover (and mobile+travel insurance along with emergency repair cover) with my Halifax Ultimate reward account. £15 a month but I get £5 of that back every month. Recently took my car from my house to the mechanics without fuss.

I am with Chris Knott. Perhaps I can see what they can offer me.

I don't want to set up another bank account, I've got a couple with Barclays, one with Natwest and a new ISA with Halifax. I will have to see what sort of stuff they all offer.

Thanks guys :)

Looks like very good value. Will go for that this year.
