*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

what i'm trying to say, people came back when SLR hit but had very little contents (two tracks) but great rewards

If they added a new hard mode to vault of glass required 320 -340 with vault of glass stuff, everyone will carry on playing the game.

it's the loot everyone wants, not the contents on how to obtain the items.

EDIT: i can see them creating a SLR book for 1000 silver for old vault of glass items .... bungie always said selling will only be cosmetic items

A Year 2 VoG with Year 2 Fatebringer and Vision of Confluence as rewards would bring me back, absolutely.

Year 2 Crota would be interesting as a diversion, but I'd still end up soloing it, so it'd lose appeal quickly.

Weapons can't have burns.

more i think about it, they just need to increase light level on old contents already in the game and everyone will be happy to wait for destiny 2

Weapons can't have burns.

Weapons can have burns, they have just chosen to do away with them. I understand the logic behind it (having only Kinetic primaries is meant to encourage a wider choice) but it hasn't really worked out that way. Most players still only use a select few primaries (such as Hung Jury), so bringing back those old weapons wouldn't have much impact IMO, and would give newer players a chance to see what the fuss was about them.

ssshhh davey - next thing you know they'll be nerfing scout rifles :(

All my Characters are now 315+ thanks to challenge mode.
Gunna do one more run this week for all 3 on the new oryx challenge then thats me done - nowt left to do.

Got an op this friday, after which I will have time to restart and finish the other two games still sitting there over the xmas period - i.e. Bloodborne and Batman.

I don't mind the lack of content - if only they rejigged some of the existing maps around it would be great (use existing maps to create different missions) but alas - it's too late now, I think they've lost most of their player base that used to be addicted to it now.

I can't remember where I read it but I'm sure they said LL was not increasing?

The SRL drops are awesome although getting the 320s to drop is pretty RnG. I have half a vault full of helmets between 311-319 now and only 1 * 320 helmets. Hoping for a couple more, then I'm only missing 320 primary to hit 320 LL on two characters.

I hope I find a good LFG group tomorrow for Oryx.

On the presumption it needs to be a different runner each time, the most simple approach would be to maintain your two titans up top, then the remaining placeholders who would normally man position 1, 2, 3 + runner would dynamically rotate. i.e. Person A would have to do position 1, 2, 3 and runner respectively in each round.

However that would be for 4 perfect rounds with no bombs missed. It would get more complicated having to utilise one of your titans to go a 5th round.

Certainly not complicated, but a lot of moving parts needing perfect execution. As always with the raid, it comes down to people having good communication and patience.

Having some new PoE challenges (not Taken based) and Etheric Light being used as a consumable to help reach the light cap for those who cannot get regularly into Raid groups would be a good thing.

It wouldn't take much at all to implement mechanics based boss fights (like Skolas and the Challenge mode for Kingsfall) which would keep people occupied week to week and the same could be done for Court of Oryx.
Beating a tier 3 boss in a certain time / manner could spawn something else like the Shade of Oryx at 320 light or something with correspondingly levelled unique gear available for completion.

Daito weaponry needs to make an appearance at some point too I think as the usual Omolon / Suros / Häkke stuff constantly being recycled through the Arms Day is a bit stale now too. Even having some elemental primaries apart from the novelty Exotic we have so far would be good.

Still same here buddy. Finally got a 320 mark to go with my 320 helmet. After grinding all day Sunday, still not got an addition 320 helm though. Just a myriad of 311-319 like you.

It was funny on Sunday AM, I was (ashamedly) just doing last lap only, which gives you a about 3.50mins of downtime per game. I managed to do a surprising amount of work in the house all in 3.50 intervals, racing back to the controller to do each required lap. :D

You just need to complete the last lap then? Tbh once you hit rank 3 and are looking for drops it doesn't matter where you come.

Although I do still want the 2 more venus wins I need to 100% the record book.

I've just hit level 40 - Is max level 45

I've been doing a lot of races and it's given me good XP but my gear is a bit behind

I'm a level 40 titan

What stats should I be getting

I've been thinking what bungie could do to keep this game going.....

They could release an add on that costs £40 to all the people that have already paid for the rest of the content or bundled in with everything else for £35. As a bonus for all of those people who have already shelled out three figures for a game but don't want to update they can take away half of the content that was previously available.

Nope, I'm not still bitter about that at all...

Rejigging old raids to give higher light gear would be retarded imo. Simply because it's recycling old content which is a main thing people have complained about in the past now some of you are asking for it? I think after doing vog 50 times its just like doing the same strikes over and over again... boring.

All they need to do is make it easier to hit max light it's stupid how you need to kill oryx 100 times to hit 320.

They said they were making the grind easier yet they have nerfed drops, weapon parts, nerfed xp, introduced infusion, introduced quests, etc, etc which increases grinding.

Bring out new content every month with a £40 season pass and make it easier to hit max light when the max is increased is all they need to do.

Oh and stop with the dramatic changes to weapon balancing so we don't need to keep grinding for the next best weapon.

I prefer a level playing field than rewarding those either who have been extremely lucky or spent their whole life playing the game to increase their rolls with rng.

Challenge mode is their answer to stop the grind. Pity that if you go away on holiday for 2 weeks you could miss out on all the gear you wanted and could have had in less than 30 mins too.

Why spend the last few months raiding when you could just jump in at a checkpoint and grab the best gear but for 1 week only.

PvE is mundane but they seem focused on it and pvp is now in a serious state of neglect.

The fact that you can go to the lighthouse 10 times yet never get a 320 drop is stupid.

Also stupid that the lighthouse weapons aren't even worth using. My pdx is better.

TTK easily, for me. Less grind, more cohesive quests, no material farming, an attempt to mix up the meta and over reliance on a handful of exotics, less focused on nightfall and weeklies, fun of 3oC RNG. Then again, I missed out on Dark Below and PoE, so I'm only comparing vanilla with TTK.

What version of destiny does everyone like best and worst?

Original Destiny, The Dark Below, Prison of Elders or Taken King?

Original Vanilla Destiny albeit if it had the content we now have..

Basically the time before Bungie made any attempt to "re-balance" anything.

At the time the end game content felt like something I wanted to grind for.

Vanilla was horribly unbalanced, you basically had to use Gjallarhorn, Fatebringer/VoC, the only armour you could wear was the raid one so everyone looked the same.

At least now you can use pretty much all weapons and armour without feeling gimped (even fusions are alright in PvE, I still mess about with them in PvP occasionally). Exotics are interestingly exotic without being OP, it's much better imo.

Just want a fresh raid, or maybe a proper endless version of PoE with increasing rewards for the more rounds you survive....

Out of interest what exotics are people using? I only use a handful.

Black spindle and TOM raid only.

Telesto in void nightfall.

Truth in trials which is one round only so not exactly used much.

Apart from that I don't think I use the others and I have most of them. I'm using legendaries over exotics most of the time. The exotics aren't good enough imo.

It's not worth the hassle of trying to level them up most of the time.

ToM, Telesto, Red Death, Dragon's Breath, Gjallarhorn, Raze-lighter, Sleeper Stimulant , Bad Juju, Zhalo Supercell, Hawkmoon, Helm of St 14, Ruin Wings, Immolation Fists, Helm of Inmost Light, No Backup Plans, Mark of the Executor....just on my titan.

They all get a workout every now and then. It's fun to breakout gjallarhorn on strikes/pvp :)

Was meaning weapons only. I use the armour for sure but again just a handful of them like fast revive and the ones that make nades or supers better.

Me and a mate both ran Voidfang vestments in trials 2 weeks ago and it's funny how broken they are. all we did was run at then other team double nade and shot them as they scrambled to run away from the seekers or shot them as the seekers hit.

It was ridiculous the amount of double nades we got. There was no point running fast res those nades become so OP.

It's like year 1 arc bolt and lucky raspberry all over again.
