Do you buy less from ocuk now?

The old site was a lot easier to navigate.

I gave up trying to search through the Black Friday week deals as the various banners were giving Safari a hard time.

the new site is far too much for me. too busy, too old and dated looking.

The OcUK web guys seem to have done a little with the site, but honestly unless you change the template that is used (same one as casking.de) then I will be using the shop much less.

Pricing is not always good here recently either, the rainforest place seems to be cheaper on everything except for high end new graphics cards.

As for customer service, the rainforests returns policy and refund policy is by far the best!
If I have a faulty item they send out a new one before I need to return the old, and DSR returns, they provide me with an automated collectplus label, the day I drop it at the local shop they process my refund.

So with the exception of maybe GFX cards I wont be using OCUK for my hardware needs.

Hi Guys

I would really appreciate some feedback from you all.

The consensus here seems to be the new site, but there are mentions of 'amongst other things'.

If you could expand on that, it would be great. we take all feedback on board, both positives and negatives.

If there is something we could or should be doing then let us know. either on this thread or post in the customer service section if you feel you want to discuss a matter privately.

I would really have appreciated discreet packaging or the option to pay a little extra for it at this time of the year. I ordered my fathers Christmas present the other day expecting it to come in a brown box like most of my previous orders but instead it just came in it's original box with the invoice taped to the side.

Not normally a problem but he was the person who signed for the package so aspect of surprise is kind of ruined..

It's Ok, but to my eye's it's very close to ** No competitors **and ****** in layout (sorry I've mentioned competitors, but you wanted feedback) The new site is sort of lost in the crowd to my eyes.

Old site though a little jaded, worked really well and looked different from the rest.

New site is a bit lairy and over bright somehow. I'm sure a ton of work has gone into it so don't want knock peoples efforts, I'm sure it will get finessed until it is spot-on. But sometimes, less is more.

I still use the site, but don't tend to spend time browsing products. It's more of an in-and-out. It's not terrible in any way, but the old site was a little less in your face shop and to my eyes better for it.

But as above, nobody likes change to begin with.

I find it easier to filter through to what ever item I'm interested in.

Could do with some tweaking still I guess. But have no issue at all with the new layout.

I think the home page is a bit too busy. Rather than having 3 separate boxes (Today Only, Highlights and Latest News), why not just create additional tabs to go with the "New Products, % Offers, Top Sellers" .

The rest of the content such as "Overclockers UK – Your online store for PC hardware & PC Gaming systems..." and everything else describing the company , should just remain on a separate "About Us" page. This should reduce the amount of information overload being thrown at the user on the home page, which is arguably the most important page on any site.

I think the blue and red through out are clashing too much. I understand the colour theme of the site is to tie in with the logo, but blue and red are not the best of friends. I would instead keep red to a minimum. Even the tabs on the left hand side of the side could be changed to a light grey or similar.

The banner at the top advertising the latest deals/products looks a bit out of place and people may find it confusing/too much with more tabs.

I was thinking something roughly like this to help clear things up *shrugs* :

I haven't had the need to buy anything since the new website was unleashed.
However, even though I don't like it and find it hard work to use I would still buy from OC.

the site is very slow to load.
now I don't think amazon is a good site, I would actually compare amazon to your old site, adequate. Nothing more.

however load times. picked ssd, merely as I got one recently.

so despite ocuk downloading less and being far closer to the uk, it's load time is massive

Yes but not because of the new site. The reason is the lack of free shipping since the move to DPD. Same thing happened with the other two retailers I used to get free shipping with due to forum activities when they swapped to DPD. I now get most of my components from Amazon.

I do really hate the new site though. It's way too busy and it's awful to find things when you are trying to help someone out on the forum. The built in BB code is excellent but that's all it has going for it.

Haven't bought anything from OcUK for a few years now, mainly due to prices being better elsewhere.

Even the forums aren't as good as they used to be - thankfully the MM is still going strong though.

Free shipping is awesome! Where you been?

I didn't buy a great deal, but used to browse a lot and attempt to make baskets for people. I can't be bothered any more; hate the navigation, looks horrible, can be slow at times, looks horrible......did I mention that already?!
