AMD Fluid Motion "Enable 60fps Movies"

People need to stop compering this to TVs way of doing it.. Its not the same least on my Philips 400hz.

See video above for example how can a 30fps 1080p Youtube video on the right look smoother than the one on the left? The hole Video is 30fps

Like I said above the AMD Fluid Motion alone is how TVs do there thing, With the Plugin + Fluid Motion its a complete different thing.

Forget about TVs Guys this isn't the same!

Stop Shankly, just stop.

Stop Shankly, just stop.

No because you have no clue!

Why Does Motion Blur Smooth out Video? Why Does High Refresh Rate Smooth Out Video.

They is other ways TVs work, they use Post Processing This isn't the same thing. This method is a Frame Rate Converter!!!!!!

Edit

If its the same thing why go through the extra trouble making a Plugin? Why not just stop at AMD Fluid Motion? Why AMD Fluid Motion alone or my TV alone is 24fps? Why with a Plugin I now get 60fps?
The difference between Fluid Motion and then Fluid Motion + Plugin is night and day.

Films are made for projectors - cinemas and TVs. Not computers. Go ask the film directors.

LOL Some people don't like films that look like home videos :p

Most directors don't like it either.

You dont need to be abusive about it.

The video plays at 720/1080p 60fps if you select the option.

They aren't but the same principle/end result applies, at least to my eyes anyway. The clear/good motion clarity + continuous smoothness of a 60fps youtube gaming video VS a 30fps gaming video is more or less the same as comparing no SFI/fluid motion to SFI/fluid motion enabled for films.

The main reason people choose 144hz tn screens over 60hz ips for gaming especially FPS is because the motion clarity is so much better so why not choose something that will also give the same effect for when watching films especially fast paced films.

At first, I didn't like the feature at all but after watching a few films and then turning the feature off and re-watching the same films, you just notice the awful judder and poor motion clarity.

If this on PC... the reason you are getting judder is just because 60 isn't divisible by 24, so you HAVE to use something to un-judder... most TV's do 2:3 pull down for content fed directly to it so you don't get judder in the first place (I either use my blu ray player for discs, or my TV has network access and it just pulls the files over the network directly).

my media PC has been relegated to web browsing and NAS duties as my TV does a better job of being a media player does

Because fluid motion normally only works with CyberLink Power DVD - you HAVE to install the plugin or fluid motion actually does nothing (according to the AMD website)

Shanks, fluid motion is frame interpolation, it looks at frame 1 and frame 2 and creates frame 1a and frame 1b, with say a moving object like a car, if it moves 3cm on screen between 1 and 2, it create a frame where it moves 1cm and another at 2cm and inserts those where otherwise it would just be showing frame 1 three times... it is exactly what
TV's do, and SVP and any number of other frame interpolation solutions do, it says all of this right there in the AMD information

Computers can be used with TVs :p

Yes but they are in the wrong colour space. The majority of people don't have it setup the way the directors/colourists set it up in the production studio.

You are breaking every aspect on how it was supposed to look. Colour and motion. All because AMD said so.

On my PC, I don't have judder as I use madvr and the smooth motion feature but it adds even more blur to motion (i used reclock with my last monitor and it was ok, smooth motion via madvr did a better job though). I tried out this amd fluid motion and it gives the same "soap opera" effect as my panasonic SFI feature, which I like, however, it had moments of judder every now and then.

For my previous comparisons, I am just talking about my panasonic TV and its smart frame interpolation feature, I play back films from a hard drive through kodi via droidbox.

Works fine on all players I have tested, you know how because I can enable demo mode, it splits the image to show side by side.

Like shown here

Nope, I calibrate my displays the correct way. :)
