Am I just being stupid having asthetics stop me buying a card?

tbh i have found getting a none window case saves you a lot of money. orange boards, blue gpu, green ram, black psu etc.......

Most cards look good with a slab of nickel plated copper on them :p

The only card I've ever found truely rancid was that HIS (280x/7970?) That was a like a champagne coloured cooler.

Admittedly no option for myself, case is glass all around :o

However that OP sapphire card looks pretty great more so when you don't have a side window :) The cooler is pretty beastly and when I had the fury, it kept that card cool and quiet pretty. I would go for it.

Talking of looks, you're aware it's 'Nvidia'? :D

Doesn't bother me in terms of internally on my current build, but anything external that doesn't match i.e that's visible does. Next build will be matched as best as possible internally as well though, as I'll be spending more on an i7 amongst other better components.

its a beast of a card.........I went with a red theme this time around so I could see some people being put off by it; but performance in the end is what matters......if you don't have a windowed case......shouldn't matter :)

it's good, buy it. The one that bugs me is when RAM has stupid heatsinks on it, especially with LEDs etc. If it's the best RAM for the price I'll get it anyway, but then rip off the junk if possible as even though it's hidden I don't like it.

personnaly, i dont care about the looks of the card, all i want is :
1- color not to be of bad taste
2- backplate (because thats basicaly what shows when i install the card)
3- noise and heat
the sapphir nitro passes :d

or the Asus strix

If I didn't have window then I would not care. But I unfortunately do.

The reason for buying a powerful graphics card is wanting pretty games so wanting a pretty looking bit of hardware isn't that different.

what's your colors? snag the msi one then :)

I have a test bench style case so looks are important to me too. So yes I fully understand your thinking and I would wait for something that ticks all the boxes regards performance AND style :D
