new car being delivered, what to check?

I could not believe my dealer just added it to my invoice without asking me. Not only that they added £2k to my bill because they accidentally under charged me ex wife on a car I bought for her a year ago.

Safe to say I'm going to be making friends with a new dealer and will be ordering from them in the future.

Why does every Dr house post you read always leave you thinking lul wut? Am I the only one?

In this case they knew they could sell on the car for 20k more than it was sold to me for new so it's hard to argue with them and I had to suck it up. I Had a chat with the DP and he would not budge.

At least the free service went some way towards fixing the situation

More or less yes but the 2k was honestly owed to them they just made a mistake the first time around.

Had they been pursuing you for the £2k, did you pay the full invoice price (I.e. They invoiced you £2k under by mistake) or did they invoice you the correct price and then accidentally charged you £2k less at the payment stage?

If it's the former I would start pursuing them through legal channels for that £2k back now you have the GT4 (I can understand your reluctance to argue on the spot though) but if it's the latter then I guess an honest mistake is an honest mistake, but since you're going to be finding a new dealer anyway you've nothing to lose relationship wise.

Ok so here is the story.

I put a £3k deposit on the Panamera, it was due for delivery in March around 6 months later. The normal deposit amount was £5k but I asked if I could put a smaller deposit.

After the car was delivered they asked me for the balance by email, the told me the amount to pay so I paid it. They assumed I paid a £5k deposit so billed me £2k less than they should have.

A few weeks later I put a £5k deposit on a GT4. Then what appears to have happened is that they moved £2k from my GT4 Deposit to the Panamera and said I only put a £3k deposit on the GT4 and if I wanted the car I would have to pay up the extra £2k. Considering the car is worth £25k over what I paid I felt I had no choice. I did put up a bit of a fight but at the end of the day Im not going to walk away form my GT4.

They also did something else that was way worse but thats not for a open forum.

Makes sense, The GT4 will retain it's value and if anything will continue increasing.

As for the something worse, did the OPC dealer principle by any chance buy a GT4 and then sell it immediately at a profit.

Not that I know of, they just caused some big family issues because they are idiots.

Check for 4 cylinder diesel engine. Reject if present.

Genuine smile :)

Sounds a right knob

What? Isn't one of the points of getting a new car that you order what you want. Yet you would be happy to pay that premium and take whatever car someone decided to order for you instead?

What sort of "delivery mileage" should i be looking for,
brand new car, but what if someones done about 200mile spin in it first lol
