R9 Nano £499 -> £399

yes, 2nd hand...

if you actually look back to my first comment, I didn't even reply to you, I just put a general statement that some people in the thread were saying things about FuryX's beating 980ti's were ignoring that not all 980ti's come with the same clocks out-of-the-box... you were the one that started quoting ME and turning this in to a handbags at dawn affair

You were the first one to crack and blurt out that you could do X Y or Z to make the Nvidia card faster and thus better than the Fury X no matter what.

Am I surprised? no not really. Even though this thread clearly says "R9 Nano £499 -> £399" it does not surprise me in the least.

So carry on.

what part of "out of the box" are you struggling with?

I see everone on the AMD side is wilfully ignoring the fact that you can get out-of-the-box clocked 980ti's that run over 20% higher than the reference models being used to make their case

and you really are not in the position to now try to close off the talking of FuryX's vs. 980ti's as you had made 4 references to that comparison before I got my greasy fingers involved in the conversation

Of course the 980ti can be overclocked but I don't overclock my GPUs as I

It's not just those games either. The Fury X pulls ahead in Fallout 4, too.

So even though you have taken me out of context and been clearly shown why you still want to continue arguing with me.

I'm seriously at a loss for words.

this is the first time either of us replied directly to each other
how is this out of context?

And we've been here before too and the fact that you usually have to pay a premium for said cards means they're not exactly bargains.

the cost difference is 5%, the performance difference is 20%

I posted a general comment that 980ti's come out of the box with higher clocks, you said they were expensive, I showed they were not more expensive... then you got all uppity and started on the personal attacks, how is that out of context?

I've said all I have to say. I have done my best to explain it to you but you just don't get it. But that's OK, it's not your fault.

So you can stop quoting me now desperately trying to draw me into your argument. Go find some one else willing to argue with you, there's plenty around here.

Edit, just to clear this up. I have not personally attacked any one. I have been taken out of context and I address you as you deserve to be addressed. In fact, consider me insulted that you just don't seem to be able to grasp what it is I am trying to explain to you, which is -

I am not getting dragged into a stupid, pathetic argument about which manufacturer can urinate the highest, now matter how desperately you want me to.

I have grown out of that long ago and have no wish whatsoever to return to it.

If some one being blunt offends you then I am at a loss of what to say.

I replied directly to something you said, so how is that out of context? You keep saying I took you out of context, but the first thing you said that I replied to was simply that "faster out of the box 980ti's are considerably more expensive than reference", they are as little as £10 more, so how is that out of context?

Edit, just to clear this up. I have not personally attacked any one. I have been taken out of context and I address you as you deserve to be addressed.

So all you are doing is going "WAHHH MUMMY

erm... ?

Everything you have said since I initially replied to some one in response to a question put to me has been out of context.

I've explained it to you more than once but instead of it sinking in you just keep coming back with your Nvidia facts, prices and god knows what else.

So you clearly, obviously don't understand. It was even pointed out to you by some one other than me earlier in the thread, yet still you don't seem to be able to understand.

Honestly I'm really, seriously not interested.

I'm only responsible for my own posts, you replied to me and said that 980ti's were more expensive, so me replying to that with the price of a 980ti with a high box clock for just £10 price difference is not out of context. When I did that you started accusing all nvidia users of having gangrenous appendages and calling me childish. Seriously take some responsibility for your own posts.

OK just a question, I had 7970 Crossfire and one card died a few months ago. Looking for a quicker single card replacement - would a Nano at £389 be worth it? Or a 390 at £229?

Hi guys,
With the current state of drivers from both AMD and nVidia, what sort of power should I expect from Crossfire Nano compared to nVidia' side?

Hi there

No price drop, OcUK is just moving the prices down to clear as not selling. We will then only stock the Sapphire product going forward until an official price move is made.

These need to be MSRP of £389.99, hopefully it will happen in 2016. :)

Theres a surprise! How did everyone and his dog know the nano was priced too high except AMD?!

if the nano had been £400 when i got my 970 id have jumped on it, anything that reverses the current trend of ridiculously big graphics cards without sacrificing much performance is worth it in my book, but £500 was too much of a premium over the £300 of a 970.

I'm with this guy, the more I read up on the nano the more I'd quite happily get one over the three fan behemoths that sit alongside it. It will be interesting to see if any of the next gen AMD cards come in a Nano format at the right price from the off.

Can't remember where but the small 970 was compared with the nano somewhere and the Nano gave more FPS per Watt than the 970, especially as resolution went up. It wasn't a difference to base a decision on though, they were pretty similar.

Thank you and Merry Christmas! :)

Well with HMB saving a fair bit of space, i am sure we will see smaller cards. Perhaps not as small as the nano but small enough.

There will be most definitely Nano sized cards in the future. The box has been opened with Nano, so expect similar sized cards from nVidia also.
