Holiday Beta includes VRMark, upcoming virtual reality benchmark. It’s a demo, it does not generate score, in fact it doesn’t even work with CrossFire/SLI configurations. What’s interesting is that it does not require VR glasses, as the output will be shown on any screen, it just won’t give you any actual VR experience. However if you own Oculus Rift or HTC Rive don’t hesitate to share you experience in the comments.

Installation:

1. Open your Steam Library, and choose Software.
Right-click on 3DMark, and select Properties.
In the window that opens, click on the BETAS tab.
Enter access code “HappyHolidays”, then click on the CHECK CODE button.
From the drop-down menu, select “2016 UI & VRMark Preview”
The beta will now start downloading.

Lol i should have read first, i just saw 3dmark beta and immediately installed. Only after did i realise it was just VR only and i dont have VR.

Oddly the new UI has install options on all the tests that just get stuck in a repeating lopp :(

Issue with Steam - you may need to add the DLCs manually to your account. Just search the Steam store for any DLCs for 3DMark, and "buy" them (they are free) by clicking "Play Game" on each store page. Install will work as soon as you have the listed under Properties -> DLCs for 3DMark.

We're working with Steam to get this sorted so everyone would have them enabled by default and could just Install from the UI, but currently doesn't work like that (or doesn't work for everyone) - part of the reason why it is only beta at the moment.

Edit: Currently it looks like "if you bought 3DMark from Steam, the DLCs are already listed. If you added a 3DMark key to Steam after getting it from elsewhere, you need to add the DLCs via the store one-by-one" may be the case. Need to get Steam rep to sort it for good.

I have this purchased but not on steam, any way of adding this DLC without putting it on Steam?

Yes. add it to Steam... at the top go to: Games > Activate a product on Steam > follow instructions and add your 3DMark Key.

Yer, I didn't really want it on Steam but have done it as reading up, that is the only way for now :(

I'm the same....

Doesn't mean you need to permanently run it through Steam.
You still have the original 3DMark key to run it standalone.

Right now, no. Standalone version will come in January (we had some issues with the non-Steam installer that couldn't be sorted in time for the holidays - the standalone will also feature tech to separate each test into separate bit that can be installed/uninstalled on demand, but obviously without using steam DLC functionality)

If you have non-Steam 3DMark key, you can add it to a steam account - just put the key (3DM-ICF...) to Steam account with "add a game.." and it gives you Advanced Edition on Steam. You can also keep using the standalone version with the key just fine.

Note that currently in Steam you need to manually "buy" each test DLC from the Steam store interface (they are all free, just need to click "Play Game" to add them to your account). We're working to fix this bit also, but it is mostly an inconvenience at this point, so probably no fix until January. This has to be done only once (so the tests show under "DLC" tab in properties of 3DMark on Steam).

It was ok as a demo, Shame you cant explore the whole room and walk past the android

Getting close up to the display cases was cool.

Had to disable SLi to get this to run though.

To confirm ^^^^ click on DLC > select each individual benchmark > play button. do this for each module.

It will download each benchmark and install it individually..

Bit of a faff but it works.

Sorry, couldn't get Steam to sort that yet. Only have to add them once - then you can freely install / uninstall individual tests so you can keep just the ones you use installed.

(Kinda had to add this in before Time Spy doubles the total install size...)

SLI will be fixed, but can't say yet if we can get the fix in before the holidays. SLI / Crossfire will obviously be fully supported when the full VRMark benchmark launches - this is just a "for funsies" preview and should run perfectly fine even with just one card.

Steam can be a ______
its all done now.

looks good BTW. :)

This is indeed pretty good. I ran it on the DK2 and it is very well done. Each of the exhibits are working very well in VR as well. Those without a VR headset are seriously missing out :)
