Yes, because I watched the first teaser and the first proper trailer then didn't get carried away. Had I watched every promo, snippet, YT vid and feature, then most likely it wouldn't have lived up to the hype.

Yes.

And same, all I watched was the teaser and the full trailer. Avoided everything between that and the release.

Then I watched 4-6 on the 3 days leading up to releases of 7 so they are all fresh in my mind so I got all the references and appreciate what they were trying to do.

No (but only by a little - the characters were great).

And I didn't watch/read anything beyond a fraction of one of the trailers.

Yes.

I'm going to say yes as from my perspective it did ... but I didn't go overboard getting into the hype like some did (like others in the thread I watched the trailers and avoided the rest and rewatched the eralier films over the last month or so).

Could it have been better ... yes, there were elements which were very good, but there were others which were less so (in my opinion)

I was replying to a poster that said the prequels were better, hence the :D

Sarcasm is quite difficult to potray in a forum. Need an iPhone laughing smiley.

The prequel, why not good, at least had a new story line. TFA was a total rehash of the first 3 movies, even down to pulling the same scenes out of them. It was absolutely terrible.

Far to many people caught up in the hype and not being honest with themselves.
