Hi All,

I'm looking for a monitor with speakers that my daughter can use with her PS4 and PC - I think 24" should be sufficient - but do monitors with speakers play the sounds delivered over HDMI and 3.5 audio connectors?

If so, can anyone recommend a monitor please?

Many thanks

Yes they do, but my recommendation would be to buy separately. Even a £20 pair of speakers will beat the socks off anything inbuilt in a monitor.

Budget?

Will it see mainly pc use or ps4 use?

What will it's main usage be gaming, internet, office apps, movies, etc?

If it will see mainly ps4 use then you wanna go for 60hz. Therefore I would go for an IPS panel.

Just buy any IPS panel that has low input lag, 60hz with speakers tbh.

ViewSonic VX2363SMHL

Connect the PS4 and PC using hdmi and connect a set of speakers to the audio out on the monitor. Both the PS4 and PC will output audio over hdmi.

I switched from a Dell U2414H (IPS) to a SE2716H (VA). Slightly prefer the VA for Xbox the speakers are also surprisingly good.

Thanks Moogley - superb recommendation - picture quality wise it looks as good as my Dell U2414H monitor - with speakers and a faster G2G rate.
