Also, anyone else concerned about the whole miss universe thing? How do we know that there aren't prettier ladies in the rest of the universe? Can we conclusively say that?

Winning a lovely girl competition is about a lot more than being pretty. I'm sure there are lots of pretty girls on other planets in the universe, but do they want world peace that's what I'd like to know.
 
He misspelt both country names in his apology tweet, too, before deleting it.

I think this competition demeans women and i am against it. They should have fair judging of variety of categories which do not just cater toward attractiveness, entertainment or the idea of moral innocence and goodwill.

Where is the 'make me a sandwich' category?

Where is the 'how derogatory of a joke can she take before being disgusted' category?

Where is the 'How long between saying we are leaving the house and actually leaving the house' category?


On a side note: wooooo miss Philippines. My Grandfather use to have a pet pig in the Philippines and he named it after the Miss Universe at the time. Also had a German Sheppard called Hitler. Glad he never had a say on my name.

I always find it funny that half these women don't look anything like other women from their countries. Miss Philippines included.

There are many Filipinos that look like her, most of them mix blood but yes they don't look much like the average Filipino. But to be honest, they are all competing to a standard which prefers this sort of mix blood look and it doesn't really matter they don't look like the average bird there as they are competing for their country but they are not a representative of every person. Just because the current Miss Universe is Filipino, it doesn't mean the Phillipines won Miss Universe. As far as i am concerned, it is the women competing, not their country.
 
I get that these days populations are so diverse that i'm probably making a daft point but their country is used as their identifier yet most of them look like they could just as well be from anywhere. Sorta like the Miss Canada being Chinese lol.
