Can anyone recommend a nice hotel/spa not too far from Derbyshire?

Much as I fear the answers I might get by posting in GD, I couldn't see a more suitable forum to post in!

I'm looking for a nice hotel/spa to take Mrs P to for a weekend in the new year - ideally within an hour or so of Chesterfield (Derbyshire) and wondered if anyone had any recommendations?

Not looking for too much in the way of things to see in the local area as the idea is to just kick back and relax (hence the reason a spa hotel would be nice - chilling by the pool with nothing in particular to do sounds like heaven when you've got a couple of young kids running amok at home! )

Mercure Hotel in Sheffield City centre is brilliant and is placed superbly right next to the winter and peace gardens.

Yeah, we've stayed at the Mercure before and it is nice (even got a free room upgrade too! ) - but I was more looking for something away from a city centre - ideally the "stately home" type of hotel but with a nice pool!

Went to a wedding here and can't describe how disappointed I was, room even had a CRT tv in it!!!

Have you stayed at Ringwood Hall as that has a spa on site and the rooms are a million times better than Eastwood Hall
