I like Christmas but...

I get sick of Christmas pretty early due to working in a business which takes advantage of the time of year in one way or another (for businesses it starts September :(). I think it makes you as stressed as you let it.

I use to get a little stressed when i was younger but now i just couldn't care less. Sort out the prezzies early-ish and job done. I enjoy the food part of things and tbh would probably be cooking on the same scale regardless of Christmas or not.

I dont deal with the tree, that is the missus' job. Did spend 6 hours in A&E the other day after she managed to electrocute herself on oldschool lights. Oh well, better she gets a buzz and recovers than the tree getting a spark and all of us dying in a house fire

I don't think it's so much "stress" as just being bored of the whole thing by the time the "big day" eventually comes around.

It's the build up that is getting earlier and earlier. Mrs put the tree up on the 1st December. Shops had been advertising Christmas stuff from before that date. Admittedly I do most of my ordering online, but even online retailers have had Xmassy themes around the same time.

We do have two children which is going to be great on the day, watching them unwrap their stuff, but the added problems it seems to add to planning the whole thing I could do without.

I'm by no means a grinch or a scrooge, I like Christmas but I have peaked too early, and it's not my fault! I started wearing my Christmas socks last week to try and keep the feeling alive. But it's gone. So gone.

Then that is just normal. Anything gets old after a while, it stands to reason your tolerance for celebrating this single day holiday over 6-12 weeks per year every year will become tedious.

Last year i didn't do Christmas at all. I spent the day drinking wine, playing games and watching movies on the projector. I then moved on to a mates house in the evening as we do every year, as he has no family to spend it with. It definitely has made this year a lot better.

Haha, yeah if I had any say in the matter, I'd have a "pants day" playing games, drinking and eating pizza :p

Unfortunately a girlfriend and 4 year old means I have no say in the matter :o

This really, we've only really started celebrating again properly since having kids

Yep, he's 2 and a half this Christmas so is properly into it all. Loves Christmas lights, every time we're out in the car it's "CHRISTMAS LIIIIIIIGHTS!" :D

He's going to pass out when he sees what Santa has bought him I think lol.

I've eaten nothing festive yet and on a slow burn till tomorrow evening.

Only thing Christmassy I'm doing atm is wearing my Vault Tec Xmas jumper.

I haven't eaten a single festive item, touched a drop of booze or heard a Christmas song. Don't feel festive at all this year.

I am the same, although I will admit to looking forward to the usual free meal at my parents house. THeres not a year goes by that I dont want all that free food.

But yes I don't feel the christmas thing, and haven't for many years. Just another sign im too old for it.:D

It's not Christmas until it's 02:00 in the morning and I'm still playing Monopoly wondering why for the 5th time in a row I've ended up in jail.

I'm the same I'm looking forward to seeing the family and having a nice meal, then I'm off to watch the rugby on boxing day with my mates. Job done, after that I can just enjoy some time away from the office.

Struggling to get into it this year, on my third day of listening to Christmas songs in the office and I've had enough.

Rage against the machine managed to sneak in there though, not the radio edit either which was good.

Christmas day is great! Crack open the wine at 10am and nobody bats an eyelid!

Only good thing about christmas.
