Hi,

I just upgraded from a GTX980 to a Gigabyte GTX 980ti G1 Gaming mostly to play skyrim super heavy modded. With my old card I was getting a lot a dips in fps with Realvision ENB. Now with this baby I'm on steady 60 fps running at 1080p. The only thing is I bench marked this card on Heaven 4.0 and I got a score of 2351 with an average fps of 93.3. I think this is a little low for this card. What you guys think ?

This is a stock Gigabyte G1 gaming gtx 980ti. I thought this card was already overclocked. Still think the score I got is kinda low..

Yep, it has a factory overclock. But the scores on the chart here are a bit higher as the cards have been clocked further again. Below is a link with screenshot from an early run of mine.

My stock core boost is 1329mhz, but as you can see in the details berlow ive clocked it further. Dont have heaven currently installed to do a more accurate stock comparison.

Couple of things i noticed. You have a faster cpu with the 4790, i have the 4770 but we both have 16 gb ram. Does this all come into play in the benchmark or does it just test gpu power ? Also in the screenshot I still have my motherboard graphic card still enabled. Will it make a difference if i disable this ?

My cpu at that time was a 4790k at stock, not a lot faster than a 4770k as only one core hits 4.4ghz under turbo on the 4790k. Wont make much difference in this benchmark. Also on that system i only had 8gb of ram. Ive since moved to a 5820k with 16gb of ram. Im currently downloading heaven, so once installed ill post up a shot of my system results at stock. Should be interesting as i havent benched this new setup much.

Ran heaven just now using the settings that we reccomend on the bench thread i linked. Score of 2218, yours is a little higher as i suspect the onboard graphics has helped there. For the bench threads theese are disabled. So alll in id say your card is on the money.

Thanks man. Good to know ive got my money's worth. You know how it is when you get a new card

Btw i see you upgraded to a 5820k. Has that made much difference as far as gaming is concerned?

No probs.:)

Regarding the move to the 5820k from the 4790k, pretty much a sidegrade in all honesty. No difference in games between the 4790k at 4.7ghz and the 5820k at 4.5ghz. Just fancied a change.

have the same card myself , i now have mine on at 1500mhz boost and 2000mhz memory for everyday use ,which is more then enough

yours is normal when on stock, i get more or less same score as yours, these are really made to be overclocked, can get so much overclock from them ,

here is my score anyway with it overclocked, i got same score as yours when i had it on stock

I guess i cant really complain with this card at stock then :)

Been playing skyrim with enb and tons of mods. Got everything maxed out only thing I turned off was depth of field and im running at pretty much steady 60 fps :)

Btw im thinking of looking into overclocking this card and I have no idea where to begin. Can someone point me in the right direction..

MSI Afterburner is usually the go to for me. Easy to use and plenty of tutorials on YouTube.

i use OC Guru, just by ticking the OC mode it gave me boost of 1417mhz,

here what settings i use , which gives me boost of 1527mhz but settles at 1502mhz once temps go up imaybe could go get more but this is more then enough for me, also have memory at 8000mhz

OC guru doesnt auto load up on windows boot or have option so you can just copy the short cut into startup programs so it boots up as soon windows loads

It should load on boot though, please consider installing the latest version.

i am using the 1.94, on your site , its got 1.92 version on the 980ti g1 support , i had to go into the 970 xtreme support to see 1.94 version,

i know the old 1.92 didnt bootup, not sure about 1.94 but i just put shortcut into startup right away, so dont know if the latest does boot on load, be great if you had a option for it

Sounds like ill try the OC guru setup with the presets. From what ive seen so far looks pretty straightforward. Hopefully gonna be smooth goings

I talked to R&D and there were a couple of issues with 1.92 that are solved on 1.94. One of them was the Xtreme Cards not saving the LED colour configuration properly, now the cards should keep their settings even when booting/reseting.
