Steam Winter Sale 2015

When did Steam ever sell Wolfenstein®: The New Order for £34.99 ?? Offering a 85% discount on a price they never sold at surely must be against the law?

Looking at getting Risk of rain.

All of my discovery queue are early access games. Indie games are really cashing in on early access. Some of them have been early access for 2 years.

All the time:
Wolfenstein price tracker

Was at £29.99 for 2 or 3 months in the spring, though.

Will be interested to see examples of items being inflated in "rrp" just for the sales. I've not seen any such occurrences myself (barring GTAIV in the last big sale - but there they offered a different package as a "discount" from the higher price)

Probably on pre-order and the week or so after release day. They should be regulated a little more IMO. Like DFS/SCS etc got put back in place as legislation states it can only be consider a sale price if it the product is priced at its RRP for a longer duration than it is as a 'sale' price.

It's been £34.99 since June, barring sales. See my previous post.

Same tripe yet again, price hikes then discounted.

Eff off steam, you've lost another customer, I'll buy all my keys on sites I think.

Just like Amazon rofl, most of their lightning deals were more expensive than the week before, just stamped with lightning to make people buy.

Its been £34.99 for about 9 of the past 12 months. Maybe you should be regulated a little more?

Lol, always makes me giggle when online forums find the one post that is 'wrong' and people jump on the said post to try and feel big.

Anyways, the price hikes are clear as day. Specially for cheaper games.

Far worse culprits than steam for sale prices.

I am of the opinion that you know what you are buying and paying for it at the time. Prices before or after is irrelevant. If you are not willing to pay the sale price if it didn't have a massive yellow sale sticker on there, then you shouldn't be willing to pay it with the sticker on. At the end of the day, you are out of pocket the same amount.

Can you name any - I'm quite interested to see them.

I thought Dead Rising 3 looked odd at £40 RRP, but that one really had been in at 40 notes for most of the year.

They really aren't. Show us the ones that you think have been hiked. The example that you're pointing out we've jumped on is clearly wrong, as proven by the link from SteamDB. What others are there that you know of?

I'm quite happy with the prices in the sale and if they don't feel low enough for me, it's rather simple, I just don't buy. Steam have no requirement to offer discounts, but it's nice for them to do these sales so people can get deals that they feel are quite substantial. I've certainly never felt ripped off by any purchase I've made in a Steam sale.

As an example of a good deal in the Sales, the entire Witcher trilogy is on sale for £27. That's an absolute bargain for the quality of the games to be honest. TW3 is on for £25 so for an extra £2 you get the first and second game as well. They're all worth playing as well.
