Car crashes into a costa coffee in Westerham, Kent

shouldn't be driving at that age, very irresponsible of him and now he's killed at least one person and injured more... what a ****

Yep, very irresponsible to not of pulled over safely before having a stroke or heart attack ( which can happen at ANY age ), as they give you plenty of warning

Witnesses told KentOnline that the driver appeared to have collapsed at the wheel just prior to the accident.

an 80 year old driving is just irresponsible full stop... not just potential health issues occurring but generally slow reaction times, less awareness, poor eyesight

wasn't too long ago there was a thread on here about an elderly person going the wrong way up a motorway

frankly 80 is too old to drive, it is selfish and dangerous and yes the old man is a **** for being stubborn and carrying on driving at that age

there should be annual tests at age 70

If I was 80 I wouldn't let anyone tell me what to do. Sod em all. What're they going to do? Put me in prison? Probably cared for better than the NHS care homes!

that is the sort of attitude some elderly drivers have and why I'd call an 80 year old driver who ends up killing someone and injuring more a complete ****

A woman in her 70s has died and four others have been seriously injured after a car smashed through the window of a Costa Coffee shop today.

The woman was sitting with her family in the window of the shop in Market Square, Westerham, when the tragedy happened.
It most be terrible to watch one your family members be killed by an accident right in front of you..:(

A driver negotiates a shop window square on, potentially with a lot of people behind the glass? Sounds like more than an accident to me.

OMG YES MUST BE TERRORISM, WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE BY MUSLAMICS!!! THIS WAS CLEARLY TERROR RELATED. IN FACT I SAW A CAR CRASH ON THE M4 THE OTHER DAY, MUST BE ISIS! EVERYONE PPAAANNIIICC

(Back in the real world)
Such a sad story, poor family looking forward to Christmas and this happens.

An 18-22 year old driving is just irresponsible full stop.... not just potential health issues occurring but generally arrogant attitudes and an opinion their driving abilities are better than they really are and taking silly risks... You were that age once yeah?

And when are you going to give up driving?

I drove like an utter moron and should be dead or have killed someone at that age.

Peterborough Incident

Probably another old idiot that should have stopped driving a long time ago. It's funny how we don't tolerate drink or drug driving but let people on the road when their brain/medical condition has deteriorated baldly.

People age differently, some will age better than other, this is why people 70+ need a yearly medical at the very least.

flawed - some young people (mostly young men) behave recklessly, there isn't any physical impairment though to them being able to drive well

when you're 80 your reaction times, your eye sight, your health will have deteriorated

And when are you going to give up driving?

kind of irrelevant - self driving cars have already been developed, if I reach 80 they'll likely be fairly common

exactly, if it had been a drunk driver or someone talking on their mobile phone then everyone would have been conditioned into condemning it as a bad thing yet an 80 year old who is also likely very dangerous regardless of any good intentions is somehow excused

I was driving a 320D 63 plate and a X6 at 19, what's your point? I did around 10k miles a month and I sure know I was a far better driver then most 25-35 year olds. Age means nothing.

On another note, hope this driver regardless of age gets locked up. Manslaughter.

Oh great, you're back. School holidays?

Did anyone else hear the table creak when Elliott just flopped his willy on it?
