What time will Royal Mail be delivering until today?

Leaving your online Christmas present buying until Tuesday = fail !!!

There might be a petrol station open if you're lucky :p

Not really, considering it was advertised as guaranteed DPD next day delivery.
The company failed, not the OP.

Sure, he left it a little late.

Still, to the rescue!

In fairness, you left it until Tuesday to do shopping online, which was the last delivery day, then until today to go out and get something. This is all your own fault, not RM, DPD or the shops.

There's always one in every thread

FWIW, I didn't do all my Xmas shopping online with this company at the last minute. It was just a couple of presents and the store was clearly advertising guaranteed next day delivery in time for Xmas. If they handn't messed up and sent it RM instead of DPD then I probably would have received it today.

But anyway, I ended up going to the Sainsburys megastore near me and got what I needed, so you will all be able to sleep tight tonight :D

They wait for those last minute deals. I couldn't tolerate all that panic buying/rushing.

Agree. Christmas eve is great to get your shopping. Most sales begin and it's not as busy as the few days before christmas.

Bit of a nightmare for you op. I had a couple of watches delivedered midday today that were still in Germany at 2am this morning. DHL are awesome.

Now that I've bought alternatives what should I do about this delivery. Am I okay to refuse delivery or will that cost me money? I'm assuming the company, Country Attire, will try to bill me for the next day delivery.

Refuse the delivery, if you get any hassle then take it up with your card provider. If their website claimed guaranteed delivery, and you picked the correct options at checkout to get that guaranteed service it should be a pretty open and shut case.

These threads are hilarious, I demand my parcels even though it's the holidays.

To be fair many places allow you to pay extra to get it on a certain day. Amazon Prime will delver tomorrow as an example!

Your parcel in all likelihood never even made it to the delivery office. It'll be sat in some distribution centre.
