Few weeks back I bought a T-shirt off a large ebay store, the seller took over a week to dispatch and when it did arrive it was ripped and had a hole in it! So I contacted the seller, no reponses, so opened a case for a return, I have to return it, so again no response from the scummy seller and only at the last minute did they respond and accepted a return.

Anyway my issue now is who pays for the return postage costs? Tracked or recorded delivery will cost more than the item, and going by the negative feedback this company has they claim items haven't arrived or dont issue a refund. So I don't want to return it until they give me the money for the return costs. What can I do here to get my money back? Ebay seems to have very little choices and I thought they offered more protection for buyers. :(

Seller covers all shipping if item arrives damaged. It would be different if you returned it unwanted etc but you're not liable for receiving a faulty item.

So are they meant to pay the return costs or do I need to pay this out of pocket first and then expect a refund? The thing is I don't trust them going by a lot of negative reviews (yes I should have read them first), so I don't want to be double out of the pocket.

Is there anyway I can get my money back another way, such as through paypal?

Check in the resolution center - if they've accepted the return there should be a postage label for you to print off.

^ Just checked and looks like it is indeed a pre-paid postage I think, damn i just sent them a s****y message too. :o

Thanks guys

I purchased an item awhile back now which arrived the wrong size to what was stated when I ordered, ended up going through resolution centre as seller would not even acknowledge my emails, I obviously won the case but still had to pay return costs!
