Hi Simon


Mustang on its way, once I've done the run-in period I want to put the best 5W30 in it, I was checking Castrol site and see they have two Edge 5W30:

They both seem very similar, same approvals etc. What is the difference or the best one?

It is either Castrol or Mobil 1 ESP 5W30 and am leaning more towards Castrol though I suspect both are excellent and a lot better than factory fill. :)
 
Well I would say buy British but then it's going in a mustang so that might not work

Edge 5W-30 LL is the latest version with titanium boost.

Not sure what your handbook asks for though ?

5W-20 but Ford actually recommend if the car is driven hard or will see track then 5W-30 is better and is a must for supercharged car.

So once car is run in on factory fill which I will leave in for 1200 miles, I shall change to a decent 5W30.

Of course everyone in US says use Amsoil Signature, don't think can get it in UK as such I know Mobil 1 and Castrol are very good.

So think I shall go with Castrol LL then. :)
