While i think the billet one will look the best there's no way i'd have a solid metal gear knob again as they're just a right pain in the rear, freezing in the mornings and too hot in the summer. Voted for the 50th anniversary one.

How about the 50th anni one covered in a quality 4D carbon wrap? I heard it makes the gear shift faster.

I don't think its fair to say that the billet one looks cheap and nasty? I think it fits in quite well.

Though ultimately I'm not sure what the purpose of this thread is. It is your car, so surely you should just buy what you like?

The thread is for banter, to let people see what I am doing/planning, its a car forum.

I already put in the OP which my favourite was, but of course after driving with them my mind might change, not just about looks, the knob has gotta feel right in the hand too.

I like stock the most, then the billet and then the plain black.

White just sticks out really horribly imo.

I don't suppose there's one that looks like the stock one but isn't nasty plastic? That in metal would be perfect imo.

Guy down the road took delivery of his 5.0 a few weeks ago, lovely engine, interior is a big step up from the previous gen. Was the first in our area as well (his dad is good friends with the dealer principle at the local ford).

One of my gripes was that the stock knob (felt and looked cheap) is not particularly great, much prefer the chrome one!

I think the stock looks best but I know you will change for one of the others so voted Chrome as best of the rest

As did I. Although I do agree with all the comments with respect to temperature. Will be freezing in the winter, and too warm in the summer months.

I was going to suggest a nice phallic pink one, and even had the picture, but it might not go down well with the mods on this site, lol.

I voted for the 50th anniversary. Billet to me is just done, over and over.

Is there any significant difference in the quality of the materials ? I would generally want to go for which ever would be the hardest wearing with constant use and lots of polishing. A gentleman always keeps the knob clean as you never know who might see it or want a go.

Stock for me followed by black. I would never get a metal knob again as they are a nightmare as said on freezing mornings and you will need gloves to avoid frostbite. Been there done that on my Cortina a few years ago......

I voted for the chrome billet, but as has been said above whilst it probably looks the best it'll be annoyingly cold in the winter and hot in the summer.
