First of, Merry Christams to you all !!

Secondly, to the matter of hand. :p

From a quick look around in this part of the forum it seems like next line of GPU's be around Q3 2016 ?? If that's the case, which 980Ti would you recommend me ?? I have a Samsung S34E790C 34" 3440x1440 combined with 2 Dell U2412M 24" 1920x1200 IPS flanking the Samsung. Playing games like Fallout 4, Witcher 3 and so on, watching movies and normal web browsing.

Have been looking at the EVGA 980Ti Hybrid due to the hybrid, meaning low temps. But also thinking if I going to spend this kind of cash, might go for the best 980Ti out there instead. Been a while since using nVidia but from what I been reading here the temps on their cards is bit lower then AMD's cards anyway. :)

The problem is though I have no clue what so ever about graphics cards, which one would be the best one out of the box and maybe if I fell bit daring one day throw a overclock on it as well. Although the OC could be viewed as might never happen. :o

Unless OcUK would throw a super duper Christmas deal on a 980Ti then price not really to much of an incentive, more customer service, quality and performance be of more importance.

Thank you for taking time reading this and for any and all suggestions !

Hybrid coolers are excellent if you want to overclock, and it's not uncommon to hit 1500mhz core on maxwell 2 - both my 980s hit this with boost.

Even an air cooled one should hit 1350 or so without too much trouble though, to me the Hybrid cooler just makes it quieter and means temps are something I don't even have to consider.

If you get a reference card, you can always add a hybrid cooler later, EVGA sell them separately.

If you get a non-reference card, there are hybrid solutions out there for not much cash you can add in.

If you might never overclock just buy the cheapest one though tbh.

Or there is this for only a £40 premium over the cheapest card:

I have the inno 3d hybrid, it's on offer at the moment as well, can play fallout at 4k on my philips 40" at ultra, no AA, at 60fps. The card maxes out at 60c and is almost silent.

Thanks for your reply guys.

Seems if picking a hybrid it be cheaper for me buying the EVGA over here then the Inno3D, even if not adding the Shipping Cost as well, it still only a difference of £8 between them two. Sometimes can get some better deals buying from OcUK but not this time it seems, unless they got something coming up next week or such. Saying that though, if I find a few other parts I need it might end up cheaper in total anyway, has happened in the past so will check around. :)

For now though I'm still just looking around for a GFX card, hence wondering which 980Ti would be best to go for.

How would you compare the Gigabyte 980Ti G1 Gaming to EVGA Hybrid ?

Get a EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti Hybrid or if you want an air cooled card a EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti Classified .

I have a EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti Classified and it's fantastic, best built aftermarket card I have ever owned and it takes a lot to impress me with components, considering I always buy the high end when it comes to graphics cards (EVGA is my graphics card maker now for good, Asrock for their high end motherboards (Asus previously but had too many fail so avoiding them for now, but they are great too if you get a good one), Western Digital Blacks for hard drives, Samsung for SSD, Corsair for PSU and RAM, Intel for CPU, Bequiet for case fans, Logitech for peripherals and speakers, Creative for sound cards (you just have to pray they keep drivers up to date with every OS upgrade, sound cards are generally hit and miss, so really buy the best one you like at the time from any high tier manufacturer). I have been building computers and servers for over 25 years, so I hope that helps you.

Only reason I didn't go for the EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti Hybrid is it is really a reference board with a AIO water cooler and that really didn't impress me for what it costs.

My honest opinion the best card for your money in the high end aftermarket 980 Ti's is the EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti Classified and remember you get EVGA's great service and I would avoid Gigabyte like the plague after reading so many people getting charged for a RMA (return postage which is not normal and you have to pay to send it which is normal, so adds up quick when it all goes wrong) and their very unhelpful attitude when things go wrong.

If the classified is too big for your case the next best one is the EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti FTW ACX 2.0+ it's not as wide as the Classified.

tbh i think the evga hybrids look good ive got 2 of the after market shrouds coming ith the evga led lighting so that should make the cards look a lot better only ordered them last night so no idea when they willl turn up

Gigabyte have a quick turnaround here in the UK, but as mentioned they require a postal order or cash for £15 to pay for return shipping of the repaired/replaced unit If you RMA direct with them. I'm not sure if this is a global policy, so if you're still keen on Gigabyte, e-mail their Sweden technical support.

I would pick an EVGA card, because they have decent quick turnaround warranty across the whole of Europe.

It's Evga, imo best at everything Nvidia gpu, you want to rip the cooler off-check, sell it on, they get the remainder of the warranty.

980Ti is hot, my old 290X was on par with the waste heat, AIO was the only way to live with them.

Yes, but what I enjoy the most is playing@stock ain utter silence as you can't hear a thing.

To throw a spanner in the works though:

[H] I don't think have used a Kingpin 980 Ti, the high ASIC ones are absolute monsters even on air and can get past 1570/2100 with a good one on stock volts. If they had a waterblock fitted I think 1600+ on the core using stock volts would be possible.

Having said that the Kingpins are very poor value for money.

is 71 and 77 good on asic as thats what my evga hybrids just scored second card being the higher

70 is about average so yes your cards are above average.

Try your 77% card in the top slot as it can help the other card perform better in the lower slot.

Don't mean to thread hijack but I was about to post the exact same question.

INNO3D Hybrid for sure!

Mine never exceed 50 degrees (20 idle) and both overclock to 1530mhz

I'm actually eying this one up, it's quite a bit cheaper than the EVGA Hybrid.

Anyone else have anything to say about it?

I have had one for about a month to replace my broke 7990, it's very quiet and runs cool, I run games at 4k and very high/ultra, gta5, project cars, fallout 4 and a few others and get 60 fps. Very happy with mine.

Thanks for all replies, much appreciated ! :)

In regards to the Hybrid and Classified, over here they both at the same price actually. So in regards to that I gonna ask a very n00bish question here: What's the difference between a reference and aftermarket board ?

Maybe should mention it but have a Corsair Obsidian 750D tower so think I cna squeeze in any size GFX card in it. :)

Of to work now but have day off tomorrow so might buy it then if I come to a decision as to what to invest in. :o

Once again, really appreciate your replies !! :D
