*** The Official Star Wars Battlefront Thread ***

I'm really enjoying this at the minute. The open type shooter makes it more challenging rather than COD'S corridor feeling. Can't wait for more maps tho.

Ended up getting this for PS4 using the cdkeys voucher code for US version (£24.99 with 5% discount = £23.74) . Going to hold fire on getting the $49.99 season pass - will get a voucher code from pcgamesupply.com ($50 currently selling for £33.74 but I think there is a £2 odd activation charge or something) when there is more news on content and in case any offers come up...

You can buy US PSN vouchers directly from Amazon.com and you don't have to pay any additional fees, they're delivered instantly.

That's not a bad one either, not sure if they have an activation charge though.

Normally at a much greater cost, good though if you want to have peace of mind.

I don't know, but normally most places charge above the odds for 'imported' vouchers. It isn't like us buying UK credit from say cdkeys.com at below the value of the voucher.

Amazon.com you pay exactly the cost at whatever exchange rate your credit card / bank charge. Going off Google $50 is £33.59 which is basically the same as what mikeym said they could get one from pcgamesupply.com for.

Edit- I read your link now, for the sake of £1 it's probably not worth the risk is dealing with a potentially dodgy company, when you're already making a significant saving off the UK store prices.

Ugh, how do people cope with Endor? The trees whizzing past nearly cause my eyes to close. Never liked that effect in films either. Funny that I keep crashing from a tree or rock coming out of nowhere.

What a soundtrack and sound effects in this game though. Great bass and loving all the blaster/speeder sounds through the woods.

I am glad I am not the only one :D. Green/brown blur... grey walker like blur... bounce, scream, explode. Repeat.

I did start to get the hang of sliding the Speeder Bike around corners* and that helped me prolong the blur-bounce long enough to try shooting at something, very briefly, before the expected fireball of me.

I now know why Ewoks have such big shark like eyes. Bet those little furry ***** aren't colour blind either :p.

Also, I think I need a lot more practice with a DS controller after using a 360 pad or kb+mouse for so many years.

*a sharply curved area of more green/brown blur with less chance of me seeing what will kill me any second now.

I keep getting the bad connection icon and then disconnected from the server. Not sure if it's christmas overload or it's coming from my end.

Decided to pick this up on PS4 while the price is cut.. opted for the game and the season pass as I've always done with Battlefield in the past.

Really enjoying it so far, seems good fun and a little different from the usual FPS that I play even if it is basically a re-skinned BF4, it looks great on PS4.

Between this, Rainbow Six and Fallout 4 it should keep me going for the next few months, its also made me re-install BF4 for another go!!!

I always use pcgamesupply and there are no extra charges.

Edit: for Canada cards at least...

Did my 1st purchase from the Canadian store with a $20 code from pcgamesupply yesterday, didn't get charged anything extra from there.

I tried to order from pcgamesupply yesterday for the first time, cancelled after they
tried to charge me the activation fee.

I've since checked and they have a little explanation in their Q&As. Still seemed good value and one of the few places I had confidence with. Also received the code very quickly and easy verification process by phone.

I wasn't sure what it would have cost in terms of exchange rates if I had bought elsewhere. Would be interested to hear if anyone has found anywhere cheaper for future reference... (£35.76 for $50.00 card, digital)

Would be better if cdkeys got them back in stock. They have them listed for £33.99, plus you can use the 5% off code from facebook...

Been watching my lad playing Battlefront on his XBox one, must say it looks teriffic and the gameplay seems spot on, am I missing something here? I've read nothing but negative comments re this game which thus far has put me off getting it for my PC (I'm a PC Gamer) I'm a big Star Wars fan, should I go for it or is the PC version crap and the console one not?

As I say, seems excellent from what I've seen of the XBox one version....
