As title, came into a few quid tonight, (lottery win). Thinking of adding a second msi gaming edition 980ti. Mainly play bf3/4 and thinking of getting battlefront. Res is 2560x1440p with gsync on an asus ROG swift.

In what i play the single 980ti copes ok'ish at 2560x1440p, (gsync rog swift). But id like a bit more. Last time i used sli was a few months ago with a pair of 780's on a haswell 4790k at 4.7ghz. Sli does have a reputation of being a bit buggy.

so not worth it for the resolution you are using, dont think you would notice any difference. what you have is enough to wait for what's coming in 2016 down the road, cpu and gpu, VR headset

As in million million lottery win or 1 number off lottery win, either way congrats! You wouldn't notice a difference unless you went 4k unfortunately...

980 to 2x 980s i noticed big difference at 1440P

with 980ti you will notice the difference most likely in low fps boost of 15-20fps

personally if i was you, wait till pascal buy a replacement for your 980 ti :)

i currently have 2x980s at 4K and getting 45-60fps on ultra so even 980s are fine for now.

wait and jump on pascal, also battlefield is very very easy to drive! compared to me playing W3

Sli 980 ti here, running Fallout 4 at Ultra settings 2560x2440 and getting 80+ fps. If you like your games to look good go for it.
Andi.

Congrats on the win. And I'd stick with what you have an save the money for Pascal.

Ask yourself, do you really need the performance boost right now?

I'm running Fallout 4 at ultra on DSR 1440p on a 760 Mars and it shoves along just fine with Godrays and shadows on low.

If you can afford to get a 4k monitor as well then go for it. If not just stick to what you have :)

Not millions unfortunately guys. Id likely be in rehab if that was the case. £600.00 for 3 numbers in the Irish lottery via William hill.

No plans to move to 4k at present as I'm happy enough with 1440p and gsync. Maybe just invest in a new ssd and hold out for new cards.

Battlefield 4 runs perfectly well even on my 980 at the same res not sure why you need SLI for those types of games.. However I'm going 980 SLI next year! That's more for Skyrim mods

link please?

All the talk from Nvidia has been 2nd Quarter. That's april or May I gather

There's no way high end Pascal will come in April or May. Maybe the equivalent of the 950 will come then but Nvidia always release the 750 card first, then the 70 and 80 and then the big one.

I don't think that the 1070 or 1080 (snigger) will be much faster than the 980ti. It's the big one you want and that won't be coming in April or May IMO.
