Because every time it comes to buy a new pair it's a right pain in the arse.

Length wise my feet are a 9-10, but about a size 12 wide. My preference is skate type shoes, which tend to be wider than normal but even then it varies massively between manufacturers and style.

Currently my shoes are falling apart, so, wide feeted people of OCUK, where do you buy your shoes?

If you can afford it, have them made for you. You're in Wiltshire, so Bristol isn't too far off. Brown Brothers used to do a clinic there in the early 2000s; I don't know if they still do. Be prepared to pay £600+ for the first pair. Mine lasted me a decade.

Funnily enough, my problem is the reverse: my feet are long but very narrow. I'm a size 14 in a B fitting.

£600? Bloody hell, I don't think I've paid more than £60 for a pair of trainers.

And I'm not after proper shoes, but specifically skate type trainers.

I gave up trying shoes on ages ago. Size 14 and 2E or 4E wide. I bought some running shoes from SportsShoes.com after phoning them up, they were really helpful and giving me models to look at on their site that were available in my size.

If you're after cheap skate shoes specifically, I don't see what other option there is other than to go to a Schuh/Two Seasons/similar and try on what you like  It's not like you can get bespoke skate shoes for £60.

I've bought the same pair of Vans Orthos 3 times over about 3 years now (luckily they're easily available on the bay). They're not particularly long lasting (the support bit above the heel always breaks apart), but I really like the design and they're very comfy.

I have slightly wide feet and also wear skate type trainers. At the moment my daily wear ones are a pair of éS Koston 7s which are by far the comfiest pair of trainers I've ever worn.

I have the exact same one as those.

Try Nike vemero or pegasus trainers I have wide fitting feet and these after loosening laces fit ok. I hear good things from new balance 1080 v4 ones too.
