Hello

Is worth getting a lappy with 2x 970m or 1x980m?

Will it better for future proof?
Heard SLI ain't in all games and what not.

Games playing at mo

Squad and star citizen ;)

Some games don't work with sli, either due to the game engine, lack of sli profile or lazy development, so get a laptop with the fastest single card you can afford. Also, upgrading laptop graphics cards is expensive and isn't always possible, another reason to get the fastest card at the outset.

Yes cheers just done more digging myself :) gonna go for the 980m

Or quick question there's so many choices between the i5 and i7 am I better off with the speed of an i5 or the more cores of the i7?

In a gaming laptop you are looking at the i7 and nothing else. Generally speaking they have more cores and clock higher anyway.

EDIT: Just checked and it looks like for Skylake Intel now offer core i5 processors with 4 cores (physical) in the mobile space. They are still clocked slower though.

Ignore anything with a "U" in the name - these are the ULV models.
