How do I hire a solicitor?

I need a solicitor who specializes in investment properties to look over a term sheet for me but I'm not sure how to hire one. I've found a few, but do I just call them and ask them how much they charge per hour? Never had to hire one, seems a bit awkward to call directly.

Just call around getting a few quotes.

Go for a fixed price as it doesn't sound like that big of a job, their hourly rates are astronomical.
