I really like Mata but he is not good enough at what we are asking him to do. He is great in a team that is wrecking the opposition and he has lots of space but his ability to turn and his pace and strength is just not good enough.

Its very rare that anyone / any team gets the amount of space he seems to need in the EPL these days

(it doesn't help that Utd aren't great admittedly, but even considering that he is woeful)

And here it goes again.

Do you notice how the talented passers at United always get criticized when we have a **** striker and a style of play that doesn't work with them?

Drop Rooney, stick Martial up front with Mata in behind and we'd see much more from him. As it is we sort of play him on the right for some reason only know to LvG and his only option up front is Rooney who just loses the ball.

When he was playing in a good Chelsea side he was brilliant but he had a lot more time and space to operate in.

Hmm im not sure ypu understand. Mata is one of the slow players who needs forever and is key to slowing the game down to his own pace. Which is very slow.

i said when we signed mata he was a luxury player. Not the player we needed at all while many swooned at him.

Go watch someone like inesta and compare.

Sometimes I think he could score deliberate own goals and the media would manage to spin it that he was inspiring his own team to score to make up for it

Iniesta and Mata play in completely different positions :confused:
 
That's just nonsense, Mata can play the ball quick. The question is, who is he playing it quick too? Several times he played the ball into Rooney who just loses it. If Martial is stuck out left then there is nothing Mata can do in the game. When Martial moved more central in the second half Mata became much more effective and we saw some nice moves between the two.

Honestly this is typical, United fans as a group always turn on the 'style' players.

But Rooney isn't Ronaldo (the fat one, not Cristiano) and Young isn't Messi.

Darmian isn't Gary Neville and Schneidlerin isn't Roy Keane!!!!
