Any tips for a courier to use for a well packaged PC?

Must allow insurance - a few I've looked at says they only carry 'computer servers' on a no-compensation basis only.
And home pick up.

Thanks!

DPD also aren't available to the general public, interlink may be though and are basically the same company.

Insurance is definitely advisable... no matter how well packaged it is, the worst can and does happen. Seen some awful examples recently (Dave and BNeg I think).

Thanks guys.

I used a third party to book a DPD collection, just got the confirmation through and it's come out as UPS. I'll therefore let you know how UPS goes!!

I've never had any problems with DPD but as above you might not be able to use them directly.

Having a bit of a nightmare with deliveries/couriers at the moment - been ordering a bit of electrical stuff for a project:

Scheduled a delivery for 28-29th Dec (knew it was expecting a bit much at that time of year but was hoping it would just be a few days late) hasn't turned up and now the courier is claiming it has been delivered - fortunately I have proof that their proof of delivery is over 6 months old and that no attempt to deliver was made at the time and date they claim but looking like legal action is going to be my only option at this point as they are sticking to their guns that it has been delivered.

On another order their trailer broke down delaying the order by 24 hours - but now its looking like it could be another 2-3 days :S (not really their fault as these things happen but still) - due to an accident on the M5 causing severe traffic disruption which is between me and the sorting office the item is at they are further behind schedule.

Heard a noise at the door just now and looked out to see the courier (not one of the 2 above) sitting in their van writing something - went down to find they'd carded as "no one home" - definitely no attempt made to ring the bell so guessing they didn't actually have the item on the van.

DPD brilliant service.

Stay well away from Hermes, 3 out of 3 failure rate with them, parcels got totally lost couldnt track, drivers lie basically shoddy all round.

I've been using Hermes for years for eBay stuff with no bother.

But DPD are excellent, although obviously more expensive.
