Best Online Streaming Service?

My local rented DVD store just closed down and there are no stores in my area left ;(

I need a streaming service that has the latest movies. That's pretty much all, I don't have too much time for TV, though extra TV series are useful, I would prefer the latest blockbusters just as my local DVD store would have. Are there are any streaming providers that do this?

I know of NowTV, Netflix, Amazon Prime, but what are your opinions; do they offer a very current and up-to-date service, would I be able to stream a movie released a week ago on DVD? How long does it take for new content to get uploaded after it is released on DVD?

Thanks.

Think your best bet might be something like the old LoveFilm thingy. I know Amazon bought them out but I think Prime might offer a disc rental service still.

Thanks for the prompt responses. I'm not wanting something to replace the DVDs because of the physical DVDs, rather I'm more eager to switch to digital so I don't have bad DVDs/risk scratching/breaking/returning to sender, etc.

I'll have a look at NowTV and LoveFilms pricing.

With NowTV how can I see what is currently being shown?

NowTV is £9.99 a month for the movies with a very good selection. None of the other streaming services come close to the amount of films available on NowTV.

All rather overpriced. I've recently cancelled my Netflix account. Almost 5 years after I got it. It's been a hoot.

How can I see what's being aired on NowTV, could screenshot the newest releases or something?

Also what do you guys think of buying a Fire TV Stick /Box and installing Kodi?

NowTV is very good. They do a free trial so try it out to get an idea of the content.

I myself use a mix of Netflix, Amazon Video (get it as part of prime) and Sky. Netflix and Amazon are mainly for TV shows. Both do very good original series and also provide access to plenty of others, Amazon for example has Luther (BBC series).

Apple TV + iTunes works well if you want a Blockbusters-type experience. You can either buy or rent movies through the services and it has all of the latest movies.

Nowtv is the most upto date, the films that are out on sky movies are there on nowtv so its pretty comparable to dvd releases, Netflix has a huge selection but it is a lot of nothing in my opinion. I only still pay for Netflix because my other half always seems to find some rubbish series no one has heard of to binge on.

Just thought I'd say NowTV Is cheaper to buy a new box than re-subscribe. 6 months + a box = ~ £35 or sometimes you can get a box including 3 months for £15 then just add the code to your account and throw away the box.

Yeah NowTv only worth it if you get a deal with the box.
Pretty much always one on hotukdeals on a weekly basis.
Just 2 weeks ago there was £15.99 black box + either 4 months movies or 6 months entertainment.
Just keep a look out.

I've got my amazon log-in from my brother so I'm covered.

My vote is Prime, it has NOWHERE near the amount of content as Netflix however as you rented movies Prime has that feature too, so if your willing to pay you can rent the latest.

It's a lot cheaper and I also cancelled my Spotify subscription due to being able to get Amazon Music again not as much as Spotify but so far almost everything i have searched for they have.

There's also free next day deliveries.

Overall while individually they're not as good as others together as a package they have the most value in my opinion.

I've went out to get the NowTV for 2mths+box at £15 from Tescos. You can get the 2mth pass again from Amazon or other stores for £9.99, making it a fiver a month.

It's cheap but from what I've seen LoveFiLM tend to have way faster releases so I'll probably switch to them. They're already renting Mockingjay Part 2 and Legend. At £8 a month for unlimited discs (2 at a time), for me, it seems like a much better option, even though its pricier, IF the titles are released way faster than NowTV. If not, NowTV seems like the best, but I remember Sky Movies being very slow at releasing new content.
