Awesome Games Done Quick 2016

LOL, I didn't see this post. I resurrected a 2-year-old one.

Anyroad, I do love these events but the fact that most of the games are retro Nintendo titles gets on my nerves somewhat. There are many new games but no-one seems to show them - maybe it's because they take too long or something.

Thanks, never knew about this. Brings back loads of memories.

Currently watching Mario 64 and before that some guys completed the full Mario kart in around 30 minutes :O

Prompted by this thread, I just watched a reverse-boss speedrun on youtube for Super Metroid. I'm pretty gobsmacked, to be honest. Incredible skill.

Recommend watching SM64 MP and SMK runs

One handed TD on Prime atm - should be special...
Can someone really complete Bloodborne in 42 minutes? Took me that long to figure out how to work my swords :p
Thats slow, but the later patches fixed some of the time-saving glitches...

ps3ud0

I never liked the idea of speedruns until I watched the summer event last year - I got quite into it and watched like 70% of them afterwards on YT after catching the games I like like.

agree though, would like to see more variety outside of the nintendo titles but guess it's just what the community prefers overall. I don't mind, there are still plenty games I enjoy or have good memories of and it's funny to see people just destroy them.

I think that's the thing - you'll like the games you grew up with. I've never owned a Nintendo system so I don't particularly enjoy watching endless runs of Mario, Kirby, etc.

But I can watch things like Deus Ex, Half Life, Quake, etc. all day long.

Looked ahead more on the schedule and to be fair there are a decent mix of games throughout - but yes there are deff less modern ones. I grew up in the mid 90s like heavily on Amiga and SNES so happy to watch those but there are a few i'm looking forward to. Wanna catch the transformers run when it's added to YT as I missed that.

2 guys 1 controller. :D

Super Metroid with them operating one half of the controls each. And they got a new World Record time. Very impressive.
