New Nintendo 3DS XL - Too big?

Sup all, I've been given the opportunity to pick up a 3DS again and as I commute to London a lot, having a hand held is something I'll really enjoy on the trains.

Now, I will likely also be playing on the sofa/in bed and generally when chilling out.

However, I fear the new XL will be a tad too big. I used to have a normal 3DS last year before the 'new' version came out with the head tracking for 3D.

I've spotted in videos that the screen on the new XL destroys all other iterations of DS in terms of saturation and contrast ratio. Which is big to me as a home cinema buff. The difference between new 3DS and the new XL in terms of screen quality with saturation and contrast is night and day.

My biggest fear, is carrying the XL in a suit jacket pocket on the tube. Is it too big? I often have a backpack but those that get the tube regularly, know that fumbling through your backpack on peak periods is just not feasible.

So yea, having it be able to fit into a normal inside jacket pocket fine and not be too annoying is key.

How are older games on it? Does the larger screen 'stretch' games causing terrible pixelation?

I'm hoping to get Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and
Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight. POSSIBLY, Pokemon X/Y, but I've never been a big Pokemon guy.

Thoughts?

I like the 3DS XL and have no regrets in choosing it over the standard size version. And, that's coming from someone who had a standard version before the upgrade. It's not too big to carry around - especially not in a backpack. Pixellation ? Not a problem for me ... I don't see it.

Depends on what genre you like. If you like RPG's I'd suggest Xenoblade Chronicles since it was reworked to run on the New 3DS. Sounds like you want Monster Hunter 4 too ...

I've gone for 3 games, Pokemon Y, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D.

Now, should I worry about buying these from eBay? I went through a stint of owning and procuring genuine Game Boy rare games and items and finding legit ones was nigh on impossible.

Thanks

It will be fine afaik the only way to create a counterfeit card at the moment would be cloning a skyds cart which even the clones cost more than those games. So they will be real.

That is a sick choice, and by the way monster Hunter 4 is only £20 on the Nintendo store online , but the sale ends on the 7th of January so be quick!

Already bought it lol. And I prefer having the cartridge, no idea why. As a collector, I like physical games.

I've not actually picked up Pokemon just yet, I might skip it as I've found a bunch of other games I could be interested in instead.

I'd love to get another Zelda game (Specifically Ocarina of Time) but I'll finish the mask one for now first.

I thought about getting Fire Emblem Awakening, but I had it on my old 3DS and just didn't like it.
