Is this a decent monitor?

Currently I'm on a 1080p TN monitor, a 22" with a 19" next to it.

I was wanting to upgrade on everything into one.
so:
~27"
1440p
IPS
Freesync(I have AMD)

I really liked the look of the superwides, but it seems they're 1080p, or their price is through the roof.

so the downside to it is the Freesync range?

because the ones I was looking at were these 2:
My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £730.68
(includes shipping: £14.70)

And I wanted to know what the 200 would get me, is it just IPS?
Is the Freesync range better with the Asus?
Is that really worth it?

What's your budget? Pick one and stick to it. I mean pick the max amount you will spend and stay inside that.

Freesync/gsync are awesome.

What graphics card do you have?

Between the Ilyama and the Asus, the difference is the panel (TN vs IPS) and the maximum refresh rate (70Hz vs 90Hz with Freesync/ 144Hz without Freesync).

Well really my budget could be 500, but I saw the Ilyama and didn't want to pay almost twice as much for something I don't need.
290X, I'll upgrade if anything worth it comes this year.

So, 20Hz freesync and a better panel.

I've never used an IPS, and have been told that it's good, but not the be all-end all.
like, if I'm not stepping down from an IPS, will I really care? because I sort of feel the res boost will be the biggest step-up

Coming from a similar recent upgrade, I feel like IPS is the icing on the cake, but the 1440p res is and the 27" size are the cake itself.

200 is a lot of icing :p
I play like, dark souls, Star Citizen(when it comes)
just cause 3.
I suppose I won't miss IPS if I've never seen it right?
and the reduced hz won't be terrible surely? if I go for the Ilyama

But £200 doesn't just get you IPS, it also gets you a higher overall refresh rate outside of Freesync usage (useful if you decide the change to an NVIDA card). If that doesn't justify the extra price, go with the Ilyama, looks like a lovely monitor!
