Care to elaborate, I must be one of the few on here to defend Anjem Choudary.![]()
Why would anyone defend him
Why should students from other religions or non religious people be forced to change?
Shouldn't this attitude also be applied towards the school spring holidays as well then since they're pretty much locked onto when Easter and Whitsun occur?
Also love the sentiment of an 'us' and 'them'. If we're talking about UK citizens there is no us and them just personal expression of choice in a belief system, which afaik is a fundamental right in the UK. Or should we go back to persecuting Catholics again as well because they're not our sponsored flavour of Christian?
Because he has a right to say whatever he likes.
Y'know, there are things in life which I am against, and things I don't mind. This doesn't affect anyone, this doesn't lower the standards of our schooling or change anything in such a way that it's detrimental to our way of life. What this is, is being accommodating to others. I see no problem with this whatsoever, and until Muslims pry my bacon sammich from my cold, dead hands, I generally have no problem with them either.
So you defend him when he says he wants to implement sharia law?
I absolutely agree but should I have to change what i do to accommodate that?
But is is fine to cater for one particular religious denomination?
Yes, as long as it doesn't impact on others in any meaningful way.
Schools do just that for Easter every year.
Yes but lots of small changes then....
Technically he said he's defending his right to say what he likes, not that he's defending his viewpoint.
If you want free speech you can have it but you can't go crying when someone say's something you don't like.
Aren't all Asian kids stupidly clever anyway? So can't see how not eating will have any effect on them all getting A*'s anyway....I mean they've all done OK in the past.
Talk about pandering to them.
They should change the exam dates to reflect important dates in the chav calendar, like a new phone being relased, international football match, new Playstation game being released, they are the truly forgotten people in society.
