Looking to pick up an iphone 5 to test an app im developing with someone else.

In terms of buying from these guys, anything to watch out for or are they generally ok?

Ive just seen that on their "mint" products they offer a 2 year warranty also, looks like i'll pop down there tomorrow!

Won't that be running an older version of iOS? Assuming you want it to work with the latest version, would the 5 even cut it?

(I have no idea how any of this works btw, just some random thoughts).

Also, what about an emulator? Or a devkit?

I bought a Galaxy SII a few years ago. It was fine for a few months but was then locked as someone had reported it stolen. CEX gave me a full refund, hassle free.

I've only had good experiences with CEX. Their website is accurate for stock checks, which is very handy.

So they sold you stolen goods? Goods which could have led to you gaining a criminal record, or at the very least being arrested, fingerprinted and your DNA entered into the system.

That wouldn't happen. CEX checks on the database to see the phone has been registered as stolen before taking it in. If it does get registered at stolen later down the line, CEX issue a refund to the customer and CEX deals with the rest. Wont effect the customer who the phone was sold to in any way.

I'm sure Cash Generator and Converter works the same.

The phone selling scam has moved onto second hand resellers like CeX, so it's highly likely that any checks they did before paying out for it were clear but the scumbag who sold it reported it as stolen later on so the scumbag wins out as CeX would have lost money (unless the scumbag has a CeX card which means that person might be in a bit of trouble if they turn up to try selling something else).

Cash converters online does what the other guy said.

I had a similar experience buying a phone from them.

First thing I knew about anything was a phone call off the police.

They wanted me to return the phone to the shop, the thing that annoyed me was the fact the shop had never even contacted me. So I rang the shop up and complained. The police had rung again and it was a good job I rang the shop again before sending the item off, as it turned out it was another identical phone that was reported stolen (different imei). And they had figured this out and not even contacted me. Very poor service.

Although I must say cash converters and cash generators can not be beaten on phone prices, if you keep an eye out when they list online. Loads of very good deals although these days you have to be very quick as they are snapped up in under an hour.

Never had any issues with CEX,But i wouldn't sell anything to them as they hardly give you anything, and their used phone prices are silly,You can get a new one for the prices they ask for the used scratched up phones.
