Any volunteers lads?

Could be awkward if the switch switches by accident, or by intention by the woman, during a moment of romance (to the fertile position)!

The surgery required sees a valve, less than an inch long and weighing less than a tenth of an ounce, implanted on the vas deferens, the ducts that carry sperm from the testicles.

I feel "less than" has been used rather inappropriately here!

sperm will be present in the first ejaculation......

"Sorry love, I need to jack off before we can have safe sex"
Mood killer much!

I think it's a great invention, but it looks a bit awkward to be fiddling with your junk looking for switches and safety buttons. Better if it was remote or something haha

I'm all for male contraception but I don't think this has been thought through properly.

A switch on the scrotum? How do you know you (or your partner) haven't accidentally turned it on/off? Also why a switch on the scrotum? It makes it seem like one day you'll want to be fertile, the next you'll want to switch it off so you don't impregnate someone.

I was reading about this on slashdot and one of the comments said after getting the snip you've still got maybe 20 shots left before you're clear.

If that is true (maybe someone from the snip thread can confirm) then this sounds useless for a spur of the moment thing. So it's more akin to a maybe reversible snip than a contraceptive.
