Needs to be quiet and effective at lowering humidity as stuff like mouse mat and expensive earphones etc are getting moldy. Bedrrom is largish, has laminate floor a window with a open vent at top of it and white painted ceiling and walls.

Looking for one as cheap as I can but a good one, maybe one that cleans air too like ionises but not vital.

Budget £80 Max I think. Might consider more if it's really required.

First try to find the cause of the damp and resolve it.

You won't get a decent one for £80.

There are two types of dehumidifier, compressor/refrigerant and desiccant. Avoid compressor types for a bedroom. Desiccant versions are much quieter, but cost slightly more to run.

Look at something like the EcoAir DD122 (£120-170ish depending on the exact model).

As above a dehumidifier isn't a solution it is just a way of masking the problem! Your bedroom shouldn't be so damp mould is growing!

I've no idea why it is like this. The only thing that's different from before the problem is instead of lining paper on the walls it's just painted with about 3 coats on of white. And laminate flooring instead of carpet. Recently sealed gaps around the edging trim of flooring in case that helped but not sure if it did or not with sealant.

sealing up a room is more likely to cause damp than cure it, you need to get someone round to have a look! does it go away f you leave a window open?

Not a fan of open windows but the air vent thing above top of window is open usually u know them new windows u get with em built in things.
