Hi, I recently purchased These parts for my fathers new build. And have a big problem.... I put it all together no problem but for some reason i cannot get it to post at all! It powers on fans, gpu and so on but nothing....

I have tried re-seating the cpu, 1 stick of ram at a time, clearing cmos, no LED's light apart from Power LED so the system is not showing any faults that i know of? Im leaning towards faulty motherboard? Any help would be much appreciated...

Contents:

Check all power cables are connected corectly to the motherboard , also inspect the motherboard cpu socket for any bent pins.

You could try rebuilding the pc outside the case with just the bare minumum components.

Out of interest when you fitted the Brocken cooler backplate on the motherboard did you fit it with or without the square plastic spacer between the cooler backplate and the processor back plate? I'm curious as the instructions show the plastic backplate fitted but then you get a 2 mm gap at the threaded mounting posts which put stress on the motherboard.

1 mistake I made before, forgot to plug in power connector for gpu

gpu seated properly? try connecting to motherboard video out first?

connected 2 power connector to the motherboard?

front panel pins all connected properly

any speaker connection for front panel, hear error beep?

ok i'm out of ideas.

No speaker, and tried the above already...

Have you tried removing the 960 and using onboard graphics?

Yeah it was one of the first things i had done. :(

Is this the bundle with the Asus motherboard? If so then the motherboard has red LEDs on it which should give you an idea which component is failing post.

Yeah i know, none of the led's other than power led would do anything. Rma sorted and replacement on its way so hopefully that sorts it.

Great. When it was powering up did it cycle through the red LEDs? When post'ing mine go through from RAM->CPU->PCI-E->Boot and then disappear.

Either way hope the RMA sorts it, it's a nice board and my first with these fancy new uefi bios'es... makes a nice change from blue screen with white characters
