Hi All

I finally bit the bullet and got a pair of the EVGA AIO coolers for my TXs (had to get the 980ti variants). The backplates are nowhere to be found however at the moment.

I am guessing the backplates are optional for the install. From what i have read the difference to the cooling is minimal. However, to tidy things up does anyone have experience using a different backplate such as the EK ones in combination with the EVGA kit? I did read somewhere they don't mix, however I know if anyone had tried it, they will likely be on OCUK....

Thanks in Advance

Hi Dominik

Many thanks for the reply. I like the idea of getting the "Faceoff". Can you terll me (if allowed in the forum rules) if that date applies to resellers as well as the official EVGA site?

Thanks again

@CapitalOne: As the faceoff shroud is very limited we do only sell this directly in our online store. The date the backplates get available is when we have it in our office roughly. Reseller in the UK will then probably have it about one week later available.
In your account you will now see the order status at SUPPORT - MY ORDER HISTORY. As long as we have not worked on the order it is listed at OPEN ORDERS. When we have created the invoice it will get pushed to COMPLETED ORDERS. When the item is finally shipped it will show the UPS Tracking ID at the same page.

@ kazuya, Beside of the txt on the Shroud the Kits are all identical so the 980 one will fit titan and the titan one the 980s. The TX version should get available till the end of the month again.

@ CapitalOne: Me personally do also like the silver one more, because of the good feedback we have received we will probably also use this out of the box in the future.

Hi all - a quick update from me.

Many thanks to EVGA support for thier input. I decided on the new shrouds, but against waiting for the backplates. I know, instant gratification and all that. At the weekend I fitted it up.

My experience was a good one, I found the install very easy thanks to the instructions. Was well worth making sure I had the right tools - those little hex screws can be a pain.

Anyway - on to the results.

Previously (no screenshots sorry) I oder to keep around 75c on stock everything I used an afterburner custom profile as below applied to both cards:

Now, under same conditions and many hours I am yet to break 50c which is exactly what I was hoping for. Idle is now low-mid 20's rather than mid 30's. The fan profile is now back to default (1000-1300 rpm by the look it if)

Load is after 2 hrs FO4, however having tabbed out to grab the screenie.

Finally the setup. The H440 can be a challenging case and probably the reason I felt I needed to move to AIO in the long term.

This took a fair amount on thought (i.e. an hour or so playing and thinking rather than just sticking it all together but seems to be working well. The main concern was fitting the 2 120 rads in the front, however mounting them sideways meant the hieght was identical to a standalone 120mm fan (and I am happy with the temps, even if proper use of mavity might make things better?). Anyway, I would highly recommend this upgrade to anyone with a "hot & quiet" case like the H440. Top product EVGA!
