R9 Nano 4GB HBM Memory for 1440p

Yer, I am inclined to agree. Tough one in truth but if I was in your shoes, I would go for the Dell and return it if it fails. Dell have a great on site warranty and will replace it with a new one and keep doing so till you are happy :)

You know what, that makes sense to me. Even if I hit less that 60fps in future titles I won't actually feel it because of Gsync. Just read some later post on the Dell thread and it keeps putting me off. I don't want to be keep sending the monitor back until it's right. For another £60 I could get the Asus ROG Swift.

G-Sync is great for lower frames and works all the way down to 1fps (not that you would want to game at 1fps) and 1440P with lowered AA looks better than 1080P with max AA if that makes sense?

I remember recording some Batman at 5K using DSR and frames were as low as 24 in places but you can see it is still pretty good. I wouldn't want to play BF4 like that but you can see for yourself how it plays (sorry, crude camera phone recording).

A 290x is faster than a 970 lol

by what a couple of fps ? would you change from a 290x = no. it also wont guarantee 60 fps no dips at the res he wants. a titan x wont so how the hell will a 290x :p

also some games the 970 is still faster ;) i know i benched them :p

I wouldn't change no because they are close in performance. Like you said some games it might be faster some it won't. What games?

And I can stay above 60fps in almost everything I play with no msaa or demanding AA @1440p it's doable

That's just with me removing AA now if you was to tweak even more you could easy stay above 60fps all the time.

@Max settings then no drops below 60fps will happen.
Anyways the 290/x 970 or 980 are best used for 1080p gaming but can get by @1440p if the user is willing to adjust settings.

crysis 3

Titan X GTX 980 R9 290X
Lowest Frame-Rate 44.0fps 31.0fps 32.0fps

thats why i stick to 1080 max settings. if you want above 60 fps max settings at 1440/4k it gets expensive and the cards to power are just not there on their own. really you want two for 1440 and 3/4 for 4k.
