Lumia 640 takes ages to charge?

Have one of these as a work phone, was on around 30% of so when I got in today at 6.30, put it straight on charge, it's around 80% now.

This is on a 2A capable charger, surely that's slow for some reason?

My Z3 will go from virtually flat to almost full in that sort of time.

Does the Lumia just have some sort of monster battery?

Z3 is quick charge 2. It'll only take an hour or so to fully charge. The lumia won't be quick charge. I don't think. I haven't checked the specs.

You should have been able to charge it from zero to 100% in that time.

Try using the official charger.

The official charger is just as slow, hence using the 2A capable one to try and speed things up a bit.

It should be about 3.6hrs from zero to 100.
Increasing the charger amperage wont charge it faster, it'll still only pull what it's designed to.

But you have ti remember it's a budget phone and well a hell if a lit cheaper than a z3

Well increasing the charger capability should give some improvement, the stock charger is only 0.75A, less than 5W, the phone should easily benefit from more. That link even suggests it should charge quicker with a higher wattage charger.

Microsoft are absolutely mental if the phone is only capable of charging at 3.75W, that would be utterly crap

The Japanese ones are, rest of the world aren't, that's how I understand it.

It certainly behaves no differently with a QC2 charger and a regular cheap 2A charger.

Correct, UK Z3 is definitely not QC2.0 compatible.

Confirmed: neither Z2 or Z3 work with Quick Charge 2.0.

The Z3+ might.

My 640 notifies me when it's not on a 2A charger and charges swiftly when it is, so it sounds like you have an issue, either with the charger, cable or phone.
