Hi GD.

My wife and I have decided to go on holiday this August.

We booked a holiday to corfu with Thomas Cook, we wanted a package deal and the protection that goes with it.

unfortunately after reevaluating the hotel, it doesn't meet our needs, so we are going to change the holiday. Lucky for us we paid the £20 for flexiholiday so we can change the entire thing if we like. But it has to be with Thomas Cook.

I have been looking on their website, and for the life of me I cannot find what I'm after. Destination doesn't matter as long as it's a safe place.

Our requirements:
scuba diving near by
30c ~
Hotel must be on a SANDY beach
4*
Shops / restaurants near by
Budget is 1800 for 14 nights.

so far I have only seen bog standard hotels, ones I would expect to pay around 400pp Inc flights in the term time...
we went to Thailand phi phi last year and that was 2.3k and was a paradise, but this year it seems impossible to find anything remotely nice...

does anyone have any suggestions?

How about Tsilivi in Zante? I've been there three times now I would love to go back.

It's within your budget, the sun is there 30-40c during the holiday months, scuba diving is excellent, there's a brilliant scuba diving shop in town run by an extremely knowledgeable british gent. Sandy beaches galore, the hotel I stayed in literally backed out onto a sandy beach.

Cape Verde is beautiful. Scuba is a little pricey there I thought (note I didn't go) but remember SD in Cuba was only about £35-£40 for two people for a 2hr effort.

Weather is guaranteed too. You can do scuba diving off a beautiful set of beaches but have to go beyond the waves as it can get good waves :-). Definitely a place I will visit again

Thanks all.

We have so far reached a final list of 12 hotels, spanning Spain, Corfu, Cape verda, Greece, Cyprus and Malta.

We are going to do a Pro/Con thing mid week and see which wins.

Ive been 4 times (Sal 3, Boa Vista 1), and going again in November. Agreed, it is a lovely place. Pretty much unspoilt too, at the moment I must add.

Thailand. Much nicer than the normal holidays in the Greek islands, cheaper too.

Simply not in the price range. The flights alone are £1500.
Also Thomas cook haven't got that destination. We went last year anyway, would love to go again but as its a very expensive trip we would like somewhere new
