Hi,
Anyone used them ?
They seem to have much better prices then everyone else in the car rental business...will need the car for the weekend and they seem to be able to offer bmw 3 series or similar for a price of smaller cars from other companies...
too good to be true ?
Thanks in advance for all replies.

No help to this threat but driving past my local Thrifty at the weekend and saw an M4 parked up outside for hire, made a change from the usual hire car fodder!

I have just rented an mondeo or similar for austria in April never used them before but from my research they are owned by hertz.

just did a google on that and you are correct :)

Have used Hertz plenty of times so might give them a go :)

unless someone will say that I should not do it ;)

I've used them before I owned a car for the occasional road trip with mates during uni years. Very good service from the brand in Hull. Willing to open earlier for me to pick up the keys to set off too.

Hired a Astra - nothing special for less than £30 a weekend. Hired a VW Golf, full of optionals like cruise control - amazing for something you're hiring less than £35 the weekend. (back in 2010 mind)

thanks
they have premium - bmw 3, merc c etc for around 120 for a weekend and for that money I could get a Cactus with Budget ;)

so will give them a go :)

their location might not be greatest to get to, but its not too bad

I often use thrifty and they are absolutely fine. Be aware they have excessive identification requirements that other rental firms do not but other than that they are fine.

Haven't things changed now and all you need is an ID/Licence with rentals?

When I did it back then, I needed a utility bill, a bank/credit card bill with my name on it, on top of my card and paper licence. I didn't have my bank but they were happy for me to log into my online bank and print a PDF of the letter head.

Thread hijack: what are good rental companies that have a decent range of prestige cars like a decent trim level A-Class/BMW?

Thanks
Will have a browse on their page for requirements
I thought that they would only require valid drivers license and credit card.
so will double check

No, they also require your latest credit card bill and a utility bill. This is in contrast to every other rental firm so don't get caught out.

They have a very premium brand heavy fleet.

I had the same with Hertz the other week, what a right pain it was too.

. The other should be a formal document (eg. utilities bill) both must be dated within 8 weeks of date of hire and be the original documents
I don't have any monthly bills...Might be a problem...
Will email them....
There is another part of the agreement that I'm not really keen on....
They charge your credit card with the excess and refund takes up to 5 days after rental finishes.
I'm fine with them blocking the amount for duration of the rental as other companies do but charge is bit different....
Not sure now what I will do...
Feel email going their way to ask few questions.
But now as they say it in their agreement it explains why they have lower prices and beer cars : people that want them need to be able to afford them and can go with the hassle of the paperwork :)
