Wasn't too bad despite the temperatures but it is annoying that you can't get away with just the Windslam sleeves.

The sleeves are beyond disappointing, and wouldn't attempt to wear the wind slam in anything under 7-9 degrees as my arms get way too cold. Paired up however with a decent Roubaix jersey and having the windslam front is quite effective.

I think the general 'issue' with some of these DHB Windslam jerseys is when things are windy enough to require protection then things are usually cool enough that we also need that protection on our arms and shoulders! Their current range also don't take into account any venting/temperature regulation, they seem aimed at midwinter-day riding rather than the cold-early-commute & warmer-ride-home combination.

The Blade I have is good at this - as although it's thicker than the roubaix fleece backed the ventilation is better (than the Blok Macro I have anyway which has no ventilation). The Blade has 'pit zips' (which are actually on the torso) you can open and there are two mesh strips down the back. It just broadens the temperature range it can be worn in, I wear it in warmer and colder weather than the Macro. I usually wear the Macro when I'm layering with an outer waterproof layer and the weather is changeable for the afternoon (with little wind). Hopefully the windslam roubaix jacket has some kinda vents/mesh otherwise I think I'll return it for the ASV.

Good point. I've sent that to him as well to confuse him even more! They're available for £389... internal cable routing. Backstep from Sora to Claris though triple so he might prefer it for The Tumble :D

'prefer'? Need! ;)

Edit: Found a great picture of Sagan lol

Went a good pedal with the Mrs last Thursday in the cold. Ice on the ground so I just plodded about at 80mph average haha.

Managed to get on the rollers last night for a 'hard' 25 minute session, probably could have went longer but just wanted to make a start at it again

80mph? Christ.

My trainer arrived at home, not Ant+ dongle though, so can't use full setup but I can do some Tacx / BKool on the iPad mount.

One thing; I got a 26mm tyre as they didn't have anything else in stock. This should be OK, right?

Will be interesting to hear how the softshell is. Keep us updated!

Of course!

I'm guessing there's an extra 0 in there lol?!

After any kind of break it's all about increasing volume of rides rather than big sessions - particularly this time of year! I was quite good about getting the turbo out over xmas but I've slacked since (as have been able to get out on the weekends instead). Really should do a session later...!

I'm hoping you don't mean 26"!

Dammit, it's the wrong tyre.. it's a MTB job. What a moron (found out looking online) - they're out of 700cs so I'll wait until later in the month, will use the normal tyres for now

Doh!

I did see a deal on one, CRC or Wiggle or something if you want me to track down?

Worth getting a cheap as chips tyre rather than ruin a good road one (if they're good...!)

That'd be sweet mate, cheers.

Janus merino hiking base layer (going to have to get some cycling specific ones!)

These are the ones I'm using - Sportful Thermodynamic. Not really a 'winter' base layer but the most wicking I could find. Great price for what they are too!

Thanks Roady.

I've got some shocking victorinox ones I can slap on there. The rims have new Conti GT 4000 s IIs on at the mo

They're worth saving! Worth £30 or more each, I'm looking forward to fitting mine in the warmer weather! And no worries! :D

I'm using an earlier version of the Tacx myself, it's done a couple of years and is showing no real wear... The blue is cool but damn it shows the dirt/oil (it gets put in my garden shed/mini workshop)!

Reported a massive 3ft long by 1ft deep pot hole, that I almost ended up in last night, via Fix My Street... Richmond Upon Thames Borough Council responded:

Thank you for your email.

As this pothole is on a red route, the council do not look after these routes.

Please contact Transport for London to report this issue using the following methods:

Why don't they communicate with TfL themselves instead of delaying the fix that could cause serious injury?! Urgh.

Ridiculous. Should go have an accident and report them as liable for their incompetence.

I've not even received anything back from Hampshire County Council, will have to chase them up.

First setup. Not had to chance to give it a run, been in meetings all night.

Scoping out some projectors online for zwift on the wall now :D

Have someone coming over to look at the Bianchi soon, so then I'll put the Endurace on there.

Because - councils.

Although that's being a little harsh - a few years ago I did a load of rewiring of some council council offices and 3/4 of them seemed busy, the only 1/4 spent the whole time chatting & wasting the others time. Also their hours seemed to be 9.something to 3.something and it was like the mary celeste on friday afternoons. May look to work there when I'm older! :D:rolleyes:

Looks great mate, lots of space! My garage is full of loads of 'stuff'! Will you ceiling mount the projector?

-5 here this morning so opted to drive in. Moisture/ice was refreezing on the windscreen and the fog is forecast to stay all day. Had it yesterday and things didn't go much above freezing all day - today looks to be colder. Take care anyone riding in this!

Had issues with ice forming on my glasses both commutes yesterday, my commute home I took it super steady to see if it was mostly caused by body heat - not totally. Anyone else experience this and got any suggestions?

Trainer mat from PX arrived yesterday so perfect timing for the car! ;)
