Basically I bought a samsung s6 for £255, the person had 100 percent feedback, 21 users

I bought it last thursday, they sent it royal mail economy, even though the page said it would be sent parcelforce.. that should have sent alarm bells ringing

However, they said it would be here wednesday. They didnt have a tracking number, they said " It is, but it is not a track and trace item, which means it will only correspond information when it is scan on arrival as it is a scan on arrival parcel. Basically let's me know it has been received successfully."

Anyway, I said last night, this was a risky, today I got this email

" Item has gone astray in post. I was told so by royal mail. You will be issued with a refund."

and then 2 minutes later at 644

"You will have to make a traditional claim. You can start by listing the item as not received on eBay. As it won't let me refund you automatically you will have to list it as item not received."

so it sounds like I have been scammed, a claim would take 8 days, so I guess they know how to do this and are stalling for time

Any ideas what to do?

Paid via PayPal? If so just put in a claim.

Not your fault he sent it the way he did so why should you have to go to the effort to get a refund... if it was actually sent insured in the first place!

Alternatively, seller could be telling the truth? Royal Mail are hardly the most reliable delivery company, and something reasonably high value has a good chance of being "lost" by a less-than-honest postie.

Make a claim, ebay always find in favour of the buyer, get refund?

don't know that it automatically screams out that it's a scam - maybe the chap did genuinely send it royal mail cheap as possible to increase his profit and it has subsequently been lost. either way just raise a dispute or whatever it is called - you'll not lose out on anything other than your time

Does not seem like a scam to me. Not against you anyway, more likely a scam against Royal Mail.

However you should not suffer, put in an "Item not received" request on Ebay and it should end up with you getting a refund.

Turn off your computer. You shouldn't be allowed to use the internet.

The question should be worded better, is there a way to get a refund quicker than the 8 day process on ebay? I don't think hes telling the truth at all

1/ Why would he send a £250 item by royal mail economy, when it is listed on the page as parcelforce, the difference is about £3

2/ How would he know at 644am the day it's supposed to arrive, that its gone missing?

the claim process takes 8 days, might be enough time for him to close his paypal account in that time

How would he know the item went missing at 644am, the day it was supposed to arrive?

You make a claim, they can no longer close their PP account until it is resolved, so really the longer you sit there trying to workout if you've been scammed or not the more chance there is of you getting nothing back.

Even if they close their account you still get the money back then PP go chasing them.

If he manages to take the money out of paypal, it'll be paypal/ebay at a loss who will then attempt to recover the funds. It won't have any bearing on the refund to you.

Put in the dispute asap.

Regarding the 6:44am, Royal Mail work 24/7.

Ok
