I almost certainly have not been scammed on ebay, any ideas?

Please don't ever buy anything from me you nutcase. :p

I will but only if you promise me you will send it tracked

I wouldn't be able to bear it again if you said you'd send it by parcelforce, but send it via economy delivery untracked

I'm failing to see here how I'm the insane one, he has not even sent this item, this item has not gone missing, because he did not send it

Did he contact royal mail at 6:40am this morning? Are they even open? Why would they contact him themselves.. " sorry mate we lost your parcel "

as far as he is concerned, the parcel was due to be delivered today, why would he phone them to check the status?

He said there is no tracking number, what royal mail service notifies someone when the parcel has been delivered ? Certainly not royal mail economy

My guess is someone messaged the seller after the auction. Offering the same money but without using ebay. That way the seller avoids ebay fee's.

maybe he made the whole thing up to use your money as a payday loan. More people do this since paypal started paying funds to your account in <2hours rather than a few days.

Because there is no sign of a scam whatsoever. Something happened, you don't know what and we don't either but it is likely to be any of these things:

- Someone he knows bought it from him
- Someone messaged him offering more
- He decided he no longer wanted to sell it
- It genuinely got lost in the post
- He forgot to post it and can't be bothered to deal with the backlash of admitting it

BUT there is absolutely no signs of this being a scam, not even a sniff. There is nothing for you to be getting yourself worked up about... Wait patiently for the refund to come through. If it doesn't, start by sending a gentle nudge.

Stop thinking of the guy as a scammer... This isn't how scams work...

Are you saying taking someone money ( borrowing ) it and not sending an item someone has paid for, isn't a scam?

- Someone he knows bought it from him - Then he would have known this beforehand, yet he messaged me a mere 2 days ago saying it should arrive on time
- Someone messaged him offering more - As above
- He decided he no longer wanted to sell it - As above
- It genuinely got lost in the post - It didn't, he wouldn't of known so soon
- He forgot to post it and can't be bothered to deal with the backlash of admitting it - He told me he posted it the day after
- He wanted to borrow your money for a couple of days - classy guy, yet im the mental one

FYI I bought an electronic controller from a company recently, they sent it recorded but before it even got to me I got a e-mail in the morning from Royal Mail around 6.19am saying a package is due to be delivered.

Its entirely possible he got an automated email from them (they have system in place for this), the times do match from what I experienced.

Intending to deprive you of your money would be scamming yes, this guy honestly wants you to have your money back so you're back at square 1. What don't you get about this?

what don't you get about this? He has stole money from me under false pretences , and I could be without £250 of my money for over 12 days. Might not be a lot, but if I wanted to borrow money out to desperate people, I'd sign upto ZOOPLA

This guy and the word honesty, does not go together at all

If ebay didn't have enough problems with genuine scammers it also has genuine sellers being called scammers by poor buyers. I'm surprised anyone can even be bothered, buying or selling.

Loving the thread title change :D

nothing genuine about this seller, replied to my email but still couldn't click that magical refund money/cancel transaction button

What does this actually mean?

He taken money off you for something, he's told you very quickly you're not going to get it and he's told you what you need to do to get your money back. Doesn't seem that dishonest to me.

He took money from me Thursday, up until this morning he told me I was getting a phone, he told me how to claim a refund or make a claim, The claim could take up to 8 days to finish

When you realise there was never any phone in the first place, however way you want to word it, he stole money from me, plain and simple

He still hasn't refunded my money, despite replying around 4-5 hours ago, he is looking less and less honest by the second

the claim process takes 8 days, might be enough time for him to close his paypal account in that time

How would he know the item went missing at 644am, the day it was supposed to arrive?

That doesn't effect the buyer in the slightest. It comes out of Paypal's pocket in that case.
