We only have limited numbers on them but this is a storming price for the board.

It's targeted for touch typists mostly, or those working under light already. The LEDs would have added on to what was originally a pretty expensive board relative to other mechanical keyboards (different switches). At this price point, it's really a no-brainer if you want to get something to mostly type on. This is not a gaming peripheral.

No worries, and I completely understand. If you look around, there are off brand versions of this board in TKL and full size with RGB LEDs also. But I can't say anything about quality or customer support.

do you look at your keyboard when you are gaming?

the reason there is no backlighting is because this is not a cherry mx board. the switch technology used in the novatouch is a hybrid capacitive mechanical switch. this cannot be backlit due to its design.

I understand Rich. I was just surprised that such an expensive board (before the discount) wasn't backlit.

I think I just assumed that TKL boards were designed for gaming, I guess the ergonomic benefits for people who use their mouse with their right hand are valid anytime. When I learned to touchtype that included touchtyping on the numpad, though if you're not entering lots of numbers then I can understand why losing the numpad might not be a huge loss.

For FPS games I'm looking at the screen and find the key I want by touch; if my hands are on a throttle and stick though and I just need an occasional key on the keyboard the backlighting is handy as I never have the light on in my computer room when I'm gaming.
